Most "deserving" F1 WDC
Discussion
We've heard a lot in this forum over the last few days and weeks about what makes an "undeserving" F1 WDC - and much disagreement and negativity along with that discussion.
So, to inject some positivity, who do you think has been the most deserving WDC while you've been watching F1? Who really had to fight for the trophy, perhaps without a dominant car, or #1 driver status?

Many people have won the championship over the 66 years it's been running.
Like a lot of things in life, people are judged not just on what they have achieved, but the manner in which they went about making that achievement.
For a thread like this, merely stating "the driver who racked up the most points" is not a good enough answer.
Some won the title at a canter. Some won it through sheer grit and determination. Some won it by cheating (not mentioning any names).
It's now what you do, it's the way that you do it.

Schumacher (although I really disliked him at the time).
A lot of the time, he didn't have the dominant car. And he took the long way to build up Ferrari during years and years, not losing willpower and patience.
His work ethic, talent and intelligence were and still are second to none I think.

It is a good enough answer because that's how a championship is decided, if you scored the most points either through most wins/best consistency/mix of the 2 then you're the one who deserves to be champion. Just because it's not the answer you want doesn't make it less valid, mind you that does seem to be the case in everything else in society now.To finish first, first you have to finish....Like a lot of things in life, people are judged not just on what they have achieved, but the manner in which they went about making that achievement.

Button had a dominant car (well, at least for half a season) but I would still say it was a well deserved WDC (and perhaps more particularly a deserved constructors).
The Brawn Motorsport podcast just hit home for me what that team had (or didn't have) to get through a season, it was pretty remarkable in modern F1 that they won the lot with the resources they actually had available week to week. The entire team certainly earned those championships.

Brawn by far the most deserving team for a championshipi think most would agree with that. The Brawn Motorsport podcast just hit home for me what that team had (or didn't have) to get through a season, it was pretty remarkable in modern F1 that they won the lot with the resources they actually had available week to week. Yet the most undeserving also.A lot of the time, he didn't have the dominant car. And he took the long way to build up Ferrari during years and years, not losing willpower and patience.
