Are they still that quiet?wont need anything for the F1
We were at Monza in 2014 and the F1 cars were the quietest of all the cars that weekend, saw them at the Hungaroring last year and they sounded louder. albeit we were pretty close to the track.
Spa is our race this year so it will be interesting to compare.

yeah. pretty much. I was on the old pit wall at silverstone this year. so the cars were only 10m away passing at 150mph+ and i had my radio headset off one ear during friday practice. We were at Monza in 2014 and the F1 cars were the quietest of all the cars that weekend, saw them at the Hungaroring last year and they sounded louder. albeit we were pretty close to the track.

The only time I have needed ear plugs in the V6 Turbo era is at Singapore sitting on the Padang straight during the race. The normal foam ones do the trick, it was just a bit to loud to not have them, however qualifying sitting higher up on turn 1 they weren't needed.
Melbourne on the other hand, no wear even close to needing ear plugs, really pretty pathetic, even the V8 supercars and Porsche Cup cars were louder and sounded better!
