Perhaps you can report back on how this looks in the flesh, because it looks st in the photos. Should have gone with aeroscreen or canopy in my opinion, this is a compromise and the worst of all worlds as a result.

Just to let anyone know, the circuit is only open from club corner to abbey, so basicaly the start finish straight plus a little bit more, had i known this i would not have bothered today, you cant beat watching the cars enter maggots or seeing the exit from the luffield complex onto the old start/finish straight.
I hadn't seen a modern F1 car for 7 or 8 years and unfortunately I found the experience more than a little underwhelming. It was nothing to do with the weather or the fact that the track was fairly quiet for most of the time, it was the sound (or lack of) that I really missed.
I know its been argued hundreds of times over but now that I've had first hand experience I have to say that modern F1 cars, while impressively quick seem a little bit 'fat free' compared the the full fat V-10 or even semi-skimmed V-8 era.
It's a shame because I used to attend races and tests regularly and I genuinely got as much of a buzz out of the astonishing sound the cars made as the spectacle of seeing them on track, whether in Qualifying, race or test session.
I came away pining for the good old days when the experience was a little more visceral than it is today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APYZUNEh8Z4 (with the added bonus of me on the pit wall from 5:13!!)
The day itself was enjoyable overall despite the limited access and the circuit radio was a welcome addition I thought. My eardrums are also intact so I suppose that's a good thing too!

God I miss that sound... When the start/finish line and pits was in a better place too, although I appreciate that is totally subjective.
Went to the test yesterday as it was my first time seeing the modern generation F1 cars live and like most people left feeling very underwhelmed by what i seen. They just didn't not excite me, the lack of sound i expected but they just looked so unspectacular to watch. I think i will stick to my historics from now on.
