Hi
I am going to the F1 on Sunday and have General Admission Tickets. We are taking my son who is 7 years old and wondered if anyone could give some ideas on where would be best for us to watch the race? I've never been before so is there likely to be somewhere we can sit, watch and have a picnic (weather permitting of course)!
Many thanks if someone can help
Deb

Can't recommend a spot as the last GA area I viewed from (1991) is now a grandstand !
However, get there early is a bit of a must. Way back in 91 we camped, and were shocked to hear people trudging past towards the entrance gates at 430am. From other websites that talk about GA tickets, they all suggest the best spots are gone very quickly.
I'd suggest that finding a place where you can see a big screen is more important than being close to the fence (with young kids), as at least the TV has something on it all the time to keep them interested. Take a radio too....listening to the commentary might help, and some ear defenders over the earphone buds might be an idea. F1 is much quieter now, but even so.
Its is long day for children so iPads or similar with games/cartoons on would be useful.

The days of trudging past at 4.30am to queue up for gates opening at 5.00 and then a mad dash for the luffield terracing are long gone. Thank god! The gates don't even open till 6am now!

I live in Banbury and will leave for the track around 6.30ish, I don't anticipate any queues (at least there hasn't the last 5 years!) and I expect to be sitting on the grass banking in my deck chair at Vale by 7.30am ready for the 1st race around 8.15ish.....
