Hi, I haven,t been to the British G.P since 1996,in those days you could turn up on the day say Friday and get a camping pitch without booking,we,r a couple of old bods so the nearer the site the better, last camp was directly across from the main entrance, appreciate the whole area and infrastructure has changed but would be greatful of any info/advice,also are general admission tickets available on the day (have heard it,s not a sell out )Regards Baz . PS any team principles wanting their shoes polishing I,m your man.

Personally, I wouldn't risk either until the day, but that's up to you.

Litchlake is the other side of Dadford road
Silverstone Camping is a short walk behind Stowe
Whittlebury is a short walk from Woodcote/Copse (through a field)
My preference has always been Whittlebury.
Plenty others of varying distances from the track.

The Campsites may well sell out, even if ticket sales don't, so might be worth a call to make sure a pitch is available.

Turn up on Friday and you'll find limited space available for your pitch selection - we used to turn up Thursday to find it rapidly filling up

Availability is still 'GOOD' for General Admission tickets, according to the Website.

Good luck and I hope you have fun!!

Scott

I've camped at Whittlebury a couple of times,it was fairly quiet. Reasonable shower facilities (they get busy later in morning)
A couple of bars onsite, evening bar snacks & breakfast available.

You maybe too late to book frown

(it was a few years ago I last went, so things may have changed.)

I've done Whittlebury and woodlands at various events

Woodlands every time now, better entertainment, prices aren't too different unless there are a lot of you.
Showers at whittlebury are ok but the block only has 7/8 of them. The main showers at woodlands are token based but the separate portacbin showers which are always kept pretty clean tend to be free.

both a similar distance from the track but you can get shuttles from woodlands if you're willing to wait.

We camped at silverstone golf club last year.
Good atmosphere, pretty good facilities and easily booked online.

Or call Claire, she was very helpful for a last minute booking last year

This year were are staying in the "F1 Camping" area as we've hired an RV.
Site looks to have bars and bands on in the evenings.

Hope it works out well .... We've been the last 3 years running and can't wait to set off on Friday morning.
There's usually an 'after race party' so would recommend not planning on heading home until Monday.

Radio Silverstone can be fun if you're camping. One boozy Saturday night we decided barbecue some jacket potatoes, amazingly less than half our party needed the Burns Unit then realised we hadn't got any butter. Called Radio S, "ish there anybody on the Windmill camp shiite willin t schwop shum butter for shum beeah". She put out the appeal but 8 very drunk people had to sing "My Guy" live on Radio Silverstone using a mobile as a microphone. We got the butter, beer we weren't short of.

The atmosphere on the campsites is fantastic, I love it.
