I've tried having a google and failed - does anyone know how Sky will be covering testing this year.

I could be wrong here, but did Sky cover the whole of the test days live previously, until last year when they had only a highlights/review programme in the evening?

This year I am quite keen to see how Honda have progressed with their engine.

I expect Sky, Autosport and a few others will have live text feeds.

Also worth keeping an eye on the teams official twittering accounts.

I don't think Sky ever covered live testing, as for a start only the FIA are legally allowed to show the cars on track.
If there was live coverage it would only have been from the pit lane.

Sky F1 will have a summary of each pre-season test, each day at 9pm, I think.

I am sure they did at one point - I remember them being there all day, I could have dreamt it though..... biggrin

F1 2016 testing: Ted's Notebook and nightly review shows from Barcelona
Daily report show 'Paddock Uncut' to be broadcast at 9pm after all eight days of pre-season action, followed by Ted's Notebook

Sky Sports F1 will be broadcasting two bespoke programmes with the latest news and insight from all eight days of pre-season testing in Barcelona.

The first test begins at the Circuit de Catalunya on Monday February 22 and the Sky Sports team will be there in force to bring you all the developments and news when the new 2016 cars make their first appearances of the year.

For the first time we will also see F1's newest team in action as Haas make their on-track debut with their new car.

9pm after every day of the eight days of pre-season action will be the time to tune into Sky Sports F1 as Rachel Brookes and Craig Slater bring you all the latest interviews with the drivers in Paddock Uncut.

That is followed by the ever-popular Ted's Notebook as Ted Kravitz goes behind the scenes in the paddock to bring you the latest from the world of F1.

There will also be live updates throughout each day of testing on Sky Sports News HQ, while the Sky Sports Digital team will be providing commentary on all eight days of track action from dawn to dusk across our digital platforms, including the Sky F1 website and the mobile app.

There will also be regular updates from the Sky Sports F1 Twitter account.

The new F1 season begins on March 20 in Australia. All 21 races will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
Confused by F1’s new tyre rules for 2016? In a Notebook Special, Ted Kravitz hijacks the Midweek Report studio to explain what’s changed

The first Barcelona test starts on Monday February 22 and the Sky Sports F1 Digital team will be providing live commentary from dawn until dusk on all four days of both Barcelona tests while Sky Sports News HQ will also deliver live updates from trackside.
As before, Ted Kravitz will do most of the work. In 2014 and 2015 there were also "Ask Crofty" type programs.

Yes they did at one time. To be honest it was pretty boring and worse than that with long periods of no action other than the waffle of the presenters.

Arguably more exciting than some of the races. I recall watching it once and wondering what on earth I was doing. Never again

So I wasn't dreaming?!?

I wouldn't mind having it on in the background when I'm working from home - same with practice.

IIRC when Sky covered the testing days they only showed the pit lane, there was very little, if any, track time footage.

Most garages had screens up when the cars were in so it wasn't the most riveting entertainment.

I can recall seeing quite a lot of empty tracks with the occasional car on them. Hardly prime time viewing.
