BBC drops F1, ITV steps in
Discussion
To be fair to ITV, other than the adverts (and christ they love adverts) they do put the effort in with motorsport - their BTCC coverage is on all day, they cover Formula E, and a bunch of other motorsport too.
the BBC have been useless since they didn't do the full season, so I don't really see this as a downside.

If true, I do believe this is the end for me.
The ads kill the ITV4 BTCC coverage and their Jim Rosenthal, dumbed-down style, is awful. 15mins of ads to 45 minutes of action is a joke.
I shall go back to reading about F1 (a la pre-1977) and perhaps listening to the odd race on radio. It usually sounds a lot closer and more exciting that live TV.
It is not as though the coverage is edge-of-the-seat stuff anyway.

As an expat, I have watched BBC TV live on i-player (via a VPN ) or afterwards on i-player , as my schedule dictated.
Can you watch ITV live on line, and does ITV have something similar in concept to i-player where programmes can be watched retrospectively ?
Shame, as this year, the GP's were available for 1mth afterwards, rather than the 1 week limit of previous years.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible (as non UK resident) to take a subscription to the SKY coverage , & neither only on line, as that would be the best solution for me.
Already pay MotoGP.com each year to watch the races, even though I am Scottish I am not too much of a skinflint to pay, but, nobody seems to offer on-line pay to view F1.
Bernie is still in the dark ages for things like this, they should have offered the same deal as motogp yonks ago.
OH, BTW, am I allowed to say stupid leftie uphill gardeners ? or will that (achieve the desired effect & ) cause offence ?

Yes, your VPN should also allow you to access the ITVPlayer at itv.com. You just need to register (for free) with an email address. They have live and time-limited on-demand services very similar to BBC, but with adverts. As a fellow expat I've been using it to watch such things as the Tour de France and Rugby World Cup.Can you watch ITV live on line, and does ITV have something similar in concept to i-player where programmes can be watched retrospectively ?
