We have 3day passes for F1 at Monza and will have a hire car available but just wondering how easy it will be to drive to the track each day -or would we be better parking at a nearby train station and jumping on a train? We are staying at Lake Como so coming in from the North rather than via Milan.

Thanks...really appreciated. Tempted to drive most of the way there from L. Como and then do the last stretch by train, but just got to work out the best station to leave the car (7-seater probably). Tickets for 3 days so I guess we can have a practice run on the Friday smile

Yep thats my plan (Im staying by lake Garda), i will gauge how busy the car parks are on the Fri/Sat (i haven't decided it i will go to the Fri yet).

Hopefully if get there early enough should be fine parking.

If the trains are anything like Monaco was last year, they will keep packing people in till the doors literally won't close!!

I've driven all three days before - park and ride was painless. We didn't get there particularly early.

Trains are equally hassle free, although the shuttle buses from station to track do get filled up.

Como trains weren't too bad - the express comes down from Switzerland IIRC. Como station is empty on a Sunday. About €3.50 into Milan, free transfer and then a walk to the track.

Last time we drove and it was surprisingly painless.

We did Monza a couple years running is 2012/13.
Lake Como and then driven to the circuit Sat and Sun.
Totally painless. The signs to the carparks were not very good, but you will get there.
The organisation of buses and drop off to and from the circuit was very well organised and easy. No real traffic or delays out of the circuit.
I would not hesitate in taking a car and jumping on the busses provided.
