...on it, balls out, pedal to the metal & incorrigible progression through the field....

With due acknowledgement to the good Dr, that is Dr Z on the Hungary GP thread, I propose that the phrase

Bianchi-esque

be formally added to the folklore of ph F1 threads and comments....

Both inappropriate and unnecessary.

IMO :-)

Absolutely.

A rather pointless exercise and not really suited to the moment.

How about a new PH phrase for pointless and inappropriate topics?

I'm confused. Is this something to do with Lewis Hamilton's glittery blouse?

biggrin I don't know the guy (Bianchi) on a personal level, never followed him at lower formulae but the one thing that sticks in my mind of him is this:

Therefore, the term is particularly applicable if there's wheelbanging involved...(at the risk of offending the large contingent of PHers who quite readily take offense at anything...) bowtie

The thing is though, if we want to go down this route I could think of a plenty more successful drivers who drove in an aggressive and often entertaining fashion.

Mansell
Villeneuve (G)
Rosberg (K)
Farina
Brabham (J)
Bellof

Bianchi had a relatively brief career in F1 (sadly) and we will never really know how much of a "great" he was destined to be. Without wanting to sound too harsh, there is no need to deify him because of his sad demise.

Good grief.

In Singapore last year Perez made up 7 places in the last 8 laps. That was stunning.

People are really over-rating Bianchi because he died.
