I should know the answer to this as have been to the gp for a number of years but always sat at becketts.

Im now thinking though of getting tickets for abbey so that i would spend the friday and Saturday at beckets but on the sunday would be able to see the race start, pit exit and some overtakes.

Just wondering if others would agree that this is a good place to sit and whether i would be better off higher or lower in the stand (needs to be the middle abbey stand).

Any help appreciated.

I've always brought GA tickets for the GP but visit Silverstone for to many event over the season and must have sat in every grandstand there is over the years. I'd see Abbey as a massive downgrade from Becketts. Ok you get to see the start and the cars turn hard right up onto Farm but that's about it. You can pretty much forget pits stops as due to the nature of the start finish incline and the flat pit lane. Thats the "deep end", the view is obstructed by the 2 story drop (I don't think Vodafone was massively happy with this when they hired that stand for the first year of the new layout HAHA).

If you bored of Becketts and want to see action i'd suggest Club (or club A, the uncovered stand, if you dont want to spend more) Village (which you can see from becketts) or Woodcote.

Having said all this I suspect the atmosphere is really good along the start finish on race day.
