Silverstone: can I sleep in the car?
Discussion
Out of the blue I've been given weekend tickets for the British Grand Prix. Club Silverstone grandstand tickets including car parking.
As they were unexpected I've not made any plans for staying at the circuit. In fact as I've only ever been to GPs for race day I don't know how it works if you're doing the whole weekend. Years ago we used to sleep in the car at Santa Pod for drag race weekends but that was quite different from GP weekend at Silverstone, I'm sure!
I'll be alone and I'm happy to slum it for a couple of nights. As I'm not a big fan of tents, can I sleep in the car in the car park or is this not recommended? Do I need to move to a camp site and if so can I sleep in the car there?
Thanks in advance.

You were allowed up to a few years ago. They specifically referred to it. I was able to park up my camper at the front of the car park and enjoy easy access for the whole weekend without bother. quite a few people were sleeping in cars. Then the piss take started- big tents all over the place taking advantage of 'free camping'. So they stopped it. You may get away with it but I'm sure if you enquire they'll say no.
