The Official 2015 Monaco Grand Prix thread **SPOILERS**
Discussion
Unless there is some miracle in the next 2 weeks it will be between 2 drivers. Hope Lewis remembers to get out first & lay down a decent "Banker" in Quali this time .
This morning in Barcelona was very predictable ( & kinda boring, as, unlike the pre-season tests only the stadium section was open to general public, I gave up at the lunch time break & drove home. 30c, no shade, only slow corners, a shame, as pre-season tests allow access to all the circuit, but I was told the work to dismantle grandstands etc etc precluded that at the post race tests.
As the teams and drivers stop for the mandatory one-hour lunch break in Barcelona, here is the timesheet at the end of the opening four hours of running:
1. Rosberg, Mercedes, 1:24.374, 78 laps
2. Marciello, Ferrari, 1:26.648, 54 laps
3, Maldonado, Lotus, 1:27.338, 53 laps
4. Kvyat, Red Bull, 1:27.684, 20 laps
5. Gasly, Toro Rosso, 1:28.147, 60 laps
6. Ericsson, Sauber, 1:28.803, 37 laps
7. Yelloly, Force India, 1:28.856, 49 laps
8. Turvey, McLaren, 1:29.730, 31 laps
9. Massa, Williams, 1:30.433, 33 laps
This was the end of day times, with NR doing more than 2 Grand Prix (66 laps) of running
Day One Timesheet
1. Nico Rosberg, Mercedes, 1:24.374, 146 laps;
2. Marcus Ericsson, Sauber, 1:26.624, 98 laps;
3. Raffaele Marciello, Ferrari, 1:26.648, 125laps;
4. Daniil Kvyat, Red Bull, 1:26.904, 101 laps;
5. Pastor Maldonado, Lotus, 1:27.338, 60 laps;
6. Nick Yelloly, Force India, 1:27.396, 109 laps;
7. Pierre Gasly, Toro Rosso, 1:27.639, 131 laps;
8. Felipe Massa, Williams, 1:27.911, 54 laps;
9. Oliver Turvey, McLaren, 1:28.542, 68 laps.

I know it can be a procession, but I love it. Will be watching every minute. The only F1 race on my bucket list.
Agreed! Can sit and watch the silly speeds they do between the barriers for ages. Especially that head on shot though the first part of the Swimming Pool!Having spent many an evening driving around "cote d'Azur" on gran tourismo 3 while at uni (when I should have been studying) I have a particular fondness for the Monaco GP.
I predict Ferrari will be back with a vengeance in the next three races. Reason? Pirelli are bringing soft and supersoft! It's going to hopefully play to Ferrari's strengths. I'll look forward to the posts of those who were jumping in glee at the Ferrari upgrades apparently not working in Barcelona in the next few races.

I hope for the 'show' you're right ...but if you extrapolate that 0.5s advantage the Mercs had in sector 3 of Catalunya to Monaco, it'll be a walk overangrymoby said:

I've just noticed, no predictions yet! So, here's mine:

Different tyres. The Ferrari works well on the 'softer' tyres, does ok on the Mediums, hopeless on the Hards. Merc comes into it's own on the harder spectrum which is why the gap was really exaggerated in Barcelona. Even so, Merc had something to think about with Hamilton's race and Ferrari kept in touch in the first half of the race with Rosberg (average of only 0.5s per lap deficit). Most of all, I'm glad last race demonstrated that Rosberg was able to do exactly what Hamilton had been doing the previous races. The guy hasn't lost his mojo. Just needed that pole to spark his campaign.

brave Mercs haven't ran the supersofts in testing yet have they?I don't bet often but I'm now seriously thinking of putting my money where my mouth is. Some good odds on the Ferraris.
