Temps look to be anything but hot -

Certainly not on par with the last race and cooler then China was.

Hmmmm. Hot weather, a Ferrari that's kind on its tyres and a resurgent Raikkonen could make for a great race.

Average temp for Spain in May is 20c. Mercedes 1-2
It's not unknown for the air temp to be mid to high 20s (with a track temp into the 40s) on race day, and it's on that basis that I can envisage a Ferrari challenge for the win. In any event, I don't foresee a Merc 1-2, and certainly not if Ferrari are close on the Friday race sims. A clever split strategy would force Merc to react, and that could open the door to at least the second step of the podium.
I'm going to this one too, it'll be my first F1 race so rather excited! I've got weekend tickets in the stand next to the first corner - Ms Mantis84 is an absolute legend!
Fingers crossed for another Hamilton win, but with a bit of a Ferrari challenge thrown in for good measure.
Anyone got any tips for things to see/do (or things to avoid) at the track and the city whilst I'm there?

Not sure how to call it, seeing as Pirelli haven't announced what tyre choices they're bringing? Assuming it is the same as last year, I can see Ferrari struggling a little bit (to match the Mercs). My reasons are not because I think it will be colder than the past races and therefore Ferrari struggling in that sense.
I think for the past two races at least, I'm seeing Merc matching and maybe doing better than Ferrari with regards to tyre degradation, albeit with an ultimate pace trade-off. However, it won't be an easy 1-2 for Merc. Clearly, Merc are spooked by the Ferrari threat.
The past two races I noticed, the softs weren't exactly holding up well on Vettel's Ferrari unlike Raikkonen who always seems to have that advantage. Too bad, he starts lower than Vettel and not in a position to really attack in the early part of the races. Or maybe that is the reason why the pace drops relatively quickly for Vettel as he's been the attacker in the early part of the races. Will follow the FP sessions closely, then perhaps we might get an idea.
eta: I'd hate to think we're being robbed of some good track action due to the tyres.

Novotel hotel in Barcelona, but only have GA tickets for me Mrs007 and my boy. You?
Staying around 4 miles from the circuit, have main grandstand (high) tickets from Thursday - Sunday. Flying out from H'row on Thursday morning.I was just trying to see if I could find a seating plan for the main grandstand, according to the tickets the seats appear to be in F20 but can not find which side of the grandstand it is or how they are laid out. I can not wait and looking forward to some nice tapas.

cooler temps, front-limited track & a punchy Nico? ...a Merc 1-2 all day long
Totally agree. Some posters also not remembering that Lewis was 2 seconds infront of Vettel after 3 laps at the weekend. I think Rosberg overtook Vettel 3 times and Kimi earlier in the race with ease. Not sure what people are baseing there opinions on. The Mercedes to me was allot quicker than the Ferrari.
