This....

Laughing my head off. Especially after seeing Jenson ahead of him most of the weekend and in Quali, again. We can only imagine the turmoil of that immense ego seeing his old team do so well, it is one of the most satisfying sights I have ever seen.

I don't think anyone is questioning Alonso's ability... It's the Mclaren that's awful.

I also don't know why everyone thinks just because McHonda did well last time, they will suddenly become unstoppable this time around. Along with the theory that if the engine was up to speed there is a mega car waiting to be unleashed.

Well, we have had his fans incessantly droning on about how he has been dragging incredible results from "a dog of a car" so there is no reason to believe that he won't be continuing to do so is there.

Today we had another quotetastic treat, obviously not at all butthurt at seeing his old mates in Ferrari doing so well... Or his great friend Sebastian, who he does not name for some strange reason, or mention that he was in fact kicked out, instead pretending that he could have stayed.

“I finished second in the world championship three years in the five years with Ferrari, I could continue two more years there and maybe finish second again, but that was not enough and I preferred the risk.

"Now I'm not getting out of Q1, so it's time for many to enjoy at this moment. Those who are enjoying, they are third, one second behind.

“They're beating me, but they're not beating Mercedes, which at the end of the day is my goal. So it's time for others to enjoy, but soon it will be time for me to enjoy."

As the Psychiatrist said about Basil Fawlty "there is enough material there for an entire conference"

How? By beating his team mate?

I can see Alonso's point of view.

Ferrari aren't quicker than Merc - they may get there...but they aren't there

In that case a WDC wouldn't have been on the cards. If that's all he cares about, perhaps McLaren is a better bet. Yes they are slow now, but they won't stay that way...and they have the might of Honda throwing money at it

He's obviously forgotten about the 7/10ths he brings to a team, so with that they'd be within touching distance.

He will have to do better than waiting for all the cars beating him in a race to crash.

Any armchair psychologists care to analyse the phrase "those that are third" when he is clearly referring to Vettel? His English is not so bad as to use the 3rd person plural by accident and he is really just showing further weakness and vulnerability by rising get to non existent bait.

He is also extremely wrong in stating that it is just Vettel who is enjoying this, many millions of F1 fans are thoroughly enjoying seeing this arrogant little narcissist get sacked, then claiming that every team in the pitlane is desperate for his signature, then moping around getting lapped.

As he is so great at "dragging podiums out of a dog of a car" why is he getting lapped, not podiums?

I agree. He's on tons of money at McLaren, so his personal fortune is hardly on the wane, legacy wise he'd probably still be a nearly man at Ferarri this year and next. I'm glad Vettel is having such a good time with a reenergized team but this is hardly Hill going to Arrows.

I rate Alonso as a driver but I don't especially 'like' him, so I do find his predicament somewhat humorous. However I do feel that he ought to win another title.

Pretty much my thoughts; if he wasn't so up himself and a trouble maker he would have at least another title already.

I can understand his logic though. He does not need any more money on his life so money is not that important to him.
He has spent 5 years on a team that supposedly should have given him a winning car and to be honest he did very well with what he had, I think no one can say otherwise.

I think in the end he became frustrated and wanted a change, a new challenge, maybe he felt that at Ferrari we would have more of the same and the McLaren backed by a manufacturer felt like a clean sheet to start. Off course know everyone has the benefit of hindsight and slams his decision but at the time I think it was the right decision, Ferrari on a turmoil, his frustration not helping, he just wanted out... Pretty much like us in some of our jobs!

What I think is a shame is that the fans are loosing out because if he had a competitive car we would see much more interesting battles up front. For me in current F1 LH and Alonso are the best drivers out there albeit slightly different styles.

What's the point of dating a supermodel if she has headache all the time.... a change was needed, trouble was he had his beer googles on! Eheh.
