One of those coupon/deal websites had an offer of £599 for a day at the Monaco GP. Flights from Glasgow incl breakfast, buffet dinner and drinks, transfers to Monaco and admission to the Le Roucher (steep banked) area of the circuit.

An expensive day but for a one off experience at Monaco, not too bad. Thoughts?

I have seen these flying about and at first it seems like a good option.

However la roucher, is packed and unless you get there early you won't see a great deal. I've not actually been on la roucher but this is what I was told when I was getting tickets.

The atmosphere and the wealth in Monaco over a gp weekend is enough to go, but you won't see a great deal of the action even in s grand stand.

We got the the from Paris down and stayed just outside Nice, they put on extra trains over the gp weekend, and it's only about £20 per person return from Nice.

The mountain side is great value for money, but only if you are there early, if flying in then I think you need a grandstand seat.

I have down the mountain side and it offers good but distant views, but you need to be there early

We're doing a similar jolly but privately organised with a private plane and transfers. All in all iirc it's costing about £1200pp for the day but it sounds like it'll be a hell of an experience-tickets are for the grandstand that overlooks the swimming pool and pits area.

I went to Monaco in 1998 and if I somehow came into enough money to give up work and follow the F1 circus around the world, the only way on earth I'd go back to Monaco is full hospitality.

I like it, and subscribed to it last year for the first time. For £1.50 per GP it's great value, though like one of the previous posters I feel there's a bit too much in the way of photography and way too much in the way of typos.

But it's available right after the race, the commentary has depth and quality, and it has no adverts. And if I'm going to give money to someone, I'd rather it was to someone who's unashamedly opposed to Bernie's crackpot ideas and isn't scared to say so.
