More testing starting on Thursday. Live text coverage on autosport and skyf1 websites.
I've just read a tweet that Alonso is in hospital for another night. I wonder who will be in his seat, surely Button won't do it all himself?
Also all on the BBC with live text updates too.I've just read a tweet that Alonso is in hospital for another night. I wonder who will be in his seat, surely Button won't do it all himself?
Has anyone on here got hands on experience of what Mclaren will be going through at the moment?
I'm watching the live feed on Autosport and, I guess like many of you, are wondering why the hell Mclaren are still doing single lap runs and not on track as often as they can be.
But reading that they are 50% behind where they wanted to be, what does that actually mean? Are they spending the time analysing data and making adjustments before they can even start their long runs or are they meant to be at a stage of doing long runs and race simulations but still have gremlins to sort out before the car will run for more than 4 laps without killing one of its drivers?
Difficult to work out what is actually going on for them, which is a huge shame because the fan support seems second to none.

They can't do long runs because 'stuff' (highly technical I know) isn't working how it should. I'm watching the live feed on Autosport and, I guess like many of you, are wondering why the hell Mclaren are still doing single lap runs and not on track as often as they can be.

A typical pre-season programme would have had them doing longer runs at the last test, but with a new engine they are where Renault where at last season...a bit stuffed.
I posted the comparison to Redbull distance a bit further up...completely forgot that there were other Renault teams (I think it's becasue a lot of people were hoping that the engine change would catapult McL up the grid).
Just seen that Ron D and Eric B are holding a press conference at 11:30...wonder what they are going to be talking about

Honda really aren't the company they once were. I reckon half the engineering department has been replaced by plush marketing suites. This has so far proven to be an unmitigated disaster for all concerned.
Ron cant even persuade anyone to sponsor the team. He's ditched the best PU on the grid to work with a company who couldn't get anywhere near a modern day F1 championship until it ditched it's own engine and plonked a Mercedes one in there.
Then their star driver has a mystery illness that makes him crash into walls when gusts of wind appear (let's not pretend Alonso, driving at 7/10ths, was going to be blown off the track here).
And finally you have McLaren's consistent refusal to talk straight about absolutely anything. It's like trying to decode visual basic every time the team says anything.
Dross.
