Yup. 4 day GA here too. I live in Albert Park, so a nice walk from the beach to the track. Very excited - I've been watching all the infrastructure been delivered through South Melbourne for the past month or so.

Not just yet. Where did you get your 4 day pass from for that price? Which seating area would you suggest? First time at an F1 race, and indeed to Oz as I'll be coming over from New Zealand for a week or so

Gone to £88 it seems for GA. Are there many good places to view the track?

I've managed to blag a work trip to Sydney. Arriving the week before the race and coming home week after.

Got flight to Melbourne sorted and hotel. Just need to sort a ticket.

Can any give any advice on the best grandstand.

Also, anyone fancy a meet up and beer on Saturday night.

For me, in GA, I like to be close to the bars*, so I normally position myself on the hill on the outside of turn 2 or on the inside of turn 3. The main benefit of those locations though is that you can see the jumbo screens.

On race day and qualifying it is standing room only there.

There are plenty of other vantage points though, the first year I went I spent the Thursday having a wander around the whole track to find my bearings, so would recommend the same.

In terms of stands, again I would prefer the south of the track as there is a lot more happening there, however I can't speak to the bum on seat experience.

* Read into that what you will

Flights and tickets now booked. Noticed v8 super cars will also be there! First ever f1 weekend so now I'm very excited!

I've book the flight after work Friday but that's about it. I'll work out the dodgy backpackers and cheap GA tickets later.
