Tomorrow morning at 9am (28th Jan) 1,000 Sunday only General Admission tickets will be sold at £99 each, this is due to Silverstone listening to it's fans (you and I know it's corporate bullst).

Children 10 and under (primary school age in other words) attend free!!

Please bear in mind
-The thieving s are still charging £65 for circuit parking
-The thieving s have surpassed themselves this year by charging £30, yes 30 fking pounds, for park and ride
-Instead google Silverstone Schools Grand Prix parking yes

Those of you who have already purchased will be upgraded to a Grandstand for the Sunday

Personally I won't be buying a ticket as the thieving s (did I mention that already) want over £400 for the ticket I want.

For someone who hasn't been before then £99 ain't bad for general admission. (As long as it don't rainlaugh)

BTW Silverstone aren't IMHO listening to Fans, they just aren't selling many tickets to F1 Fans who are fked off with ever increasing prices

Sill a lot of money just for the one day. If it included parking then it wouldn't be too bad. For those who have not done the Silverstone Classic I can very much recommend this event rather the over priced F1.

+1. But agree, F1 at Silverstone is just too expensive these days.

I was just considering this. It's still expensive though and whilst my wife would love to go my daughter who is 10 wouldn't. So need to find somewhere for her to go. What support races are there for the £200 outlay? Oh and how much in reality will one see? Bound to be large crowds.

Whilst I like F1 I think I am disillusioned and have come to the conclusion that those in charge just want to make it too exclusive. Cant afford the races, cant afford the merchandising, cant afford the telly (well also dont want to afford the telly). Whilst Bernie says theres no point to social media FOM are trying to close twitter accounts of those using F1 in their handle etc. Large rows about the engine and lots of talk about noise. I dont care about noise, I liked last season with the battles between Nico and Lewis and others further down the field.

Listening to the fans or trouble shifting the tickets?
Not surprised at the price of a three day GA ticket, £175 was it.

I wonder if those who have already bought a ticket for a 5 year old get a refund ?

Anyone know how to apply for those £99 tickets? Nothing on the Silverstone website.

£65 for parking? Madness!

Book now and you can get return Ryanair flights to Girona at the right time for the Spanish GP for £70. General Admission tickets are 117 Euros and you'll get a decent view and a great buzz on one of the many grassy knolls thumbup

This is why we went to Spa instead of Silverstone, for almost the same price with travel you get a mini holiday and a lot better veiwing (bus stop chicane) Silverstone should be ashamed really with how they treat the fans.

Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May. We usually fly from Leeds-Bradford to Girona and wrap a drunken week in Lloret around the race weekend ... this is not to everyone's taste!

Last few years have been warm rather than hot. We're flying out on the Wednesday this year. Plenty of places to stay around Barcelona or Girona and everywhere has cheap buses heading for the circuit. As with Spa (mentioned above) no need to bother with a Grandstand ticket - just get in with the crowds and enjoy it. You can always watch highlights in the bar later for anything you miss on the day smile

It's a bit hit and miss. If my experience of 2009 is anything to go by I would say no chance - we got to the gate at 5am or so and by 7am most good spots where we were gone. That said I went last year, in a grandstand, but on walking about during the race saw quite a few spots people could get a view, particularly around the Stowe area.

I am personally tempted for £99 if I can get a cheap bus or park and ride there.

Silverstone is still a total piss-take. If you don't have a grandstand seat you need to be there at 7am to get a decent viewing spot, and the traffic and parking situation is a farce. Their catering is massively overpriced and having dealt with all the major race tracks in the UK when running events there, I can confirm that Silverstone are by far the worst/best when it comes to ways of extracting money from every possible area, to the detriment of customer service.

I used to live 40 mins drive from the track, yet a 2 up trip to the BGP for race day would still cost more than going to the Le Mans 24h race, including ferry, camping, fuel, tolls, charcoal, sausages and Stella Artois as well as the tickets.

On the Sunday you should have

GP2 Race
GP3 Race
Porsche Supercup Race
F1 Race

F1 drivers track parade
GP Party

If you're after a day of action then Friday is probably the best day as it's back to back testing and qualifying as long as it doesn't rain.

Still available, so you clearly didn't need to be that quick to get one... wink

However, it is telling me that the P&R option isn't available rolleyes

So the P&R is now full, but they are 'looking to add extra capacity'. I guess this means everyone will just book the £50 on site parking as there appears to be no other option on the Silverstone website.

It's amazing that with a British World Champion they're clearly still struggling to sell the tickets. However, the tickets are extortionately expensive and a family outing with grandstand seats won't leave much change from a month's wages for some people which is a bit crazy.

The original £150 had put me off even thinking of going to the British GP, but Silverstone can kiss my hairy ass if I am ever going to pay either £65 for parking or £50 to sit on a stinking bus!

I know its partly down to the robbing little dwarf charging high race fees and demanding the circuit changes a few years ago, but that is a ridiculous amount!

Amusingly my neighbour was all cocky the other day about "going to silver-stone to see Lewis kick some arse" this year to the tune of almost £500 but he mocks me for spending £400/year on Sky to watch all the races... I know for a fact he rarely watches the other races as he goes to the pub to watch "footie" on their Sky because "its better than getting drunk at home"

Last time I went it was free parking but still £70 to get in... I haven't been back, its great but the price is too high IMO, not to mention the cost of everything inside the gates means you have to smuggle in and carry everything bar the kitchen sink.
