Sometimes, this is why there is no other man for the job than Bernie...The Nurburgring is under new ownership and Ecclestone added: "It can't be Nurburgring because there's nobody there."

Clearly, the biggest public face slap to the new Nurburgring management team that one can possibly make; superb!

I am sure there will be a German Grand Prix this year. Its just Bernie having a bit of fun and will probably suggest that the German Government could help fund the race as they have $100 million floating about in their coffers that he gave them. Its called getting your money back.

I suspect this is just Bernie negotiating.

Sadly not in this instance. The track was badly run in recent years trying to Disney-fy and capitalize on the
the place with a new hotel, shopping centre and roller coaster that are hardly used; massive debts and the place is up for sale - hence nobody there to run the place.

Well Hockenheim haven't put tickets on sale yet so I'd say Bernie is still negotiating with someone. Anyway I thought that Viktor Kharitonin had managed to acquire majority ownership last December.

Its still Bernie negotiating though. There is a new owner for the Nurburring and there is Hockenheim. Mercedes are going to want to see a race in Germany so I would expect he is assuming Mercedes will bankroll it, and he just needs to wait until that happens.

A shame.

Having attended the 2013 race at the ring, the F1 weekend is the only time all the added crap at the "nürodisney" made sense. In fact it was a fantastic set up that really worked well.
