Hi guys

Going to be in melbourne staying about 650m from the circuit in March.

Will I be able to get tickets on the gate?

Thanks

Make sure you check the daylight savings. It's usually on that weekend and the first time we went we arrived an hour earlier than we thought it was, and couldn't work out why nothing was happening on track biggrin

$79 for the Sunday, Wow. I wish Silverstone ticket prices were in that ball park.

Yep definitely no problems getting General Admission tickets at any of the gates. Some grandstands are usually available also.

Some great spots around the track with GA and so much to see and do away from the track.

I'm out there for the GP too. Just booked my 4 day general admission plus upgrade to VIP area for the massive sum of £130 per person! biggrin

It's almost cheaper to fly to Australia than go to Silverstone.

That's not right!

Tickets should be the same price in all countries.

Why? Anyway, how would you equalise that against cost of living, wages and all the other myriad factors?

It's simply supply vs demand. Silverstone is rammed despite the cost, Melbourne is lightly subscribed (despite the cheap prices), and IIRC makes some pretty big losses. Aussies mostly care about cricket, AFL and V8 supercars smile

In any case, it's an excellent GP to go to, highly recommended, if a long flight.. Melbourne's not too bad either!

Silverstone was certainly not rammed last year, lots of space in the grandstands

I was at Melbourne in 2013 - there was an F1 promo area in Federation Square (opposite Flinders St station) in the week of the GP where tickets were on sale.

Where abouts are you staying? I'm hoping to pop over from NZ, but I've not booked anything yet
