Congratulations Lewis

This season, with a car that was dominant, could have been one of the most unexciting since the Ferrari seasons in the days of Brawn leading it. Instead we got the WDC down to the last race, and down to the malfunctioning of the ERRS.
Without someone of Rosberg’s abilities we’d have had a walkover. Without the leadership of Wolff we’d have had the same thing. Fair enough, he wasn’t risking an awful lot as there was little chance of them not winning either title.
An exciting season with some excellent races. The battle behind the two Merc drivers was often tremendous and there was some dramatic overtakes. Some of the battles went on from race to race.
The surprise of the season was to find that Rosberg outqualified his arch one-lap wonder team mate so many times. There has been the suggestion that LH set his car up to be best in the race and this might explain it. Whatever, on the day that mattered, Hamilton seemed to be able to manage Rosberg’s challenge.
Well done, Hamilton. An exhibition of controlled driving. Surprisingly (to me) mature I thought.
For those of us (and I know I was not the only one) who thought the new regulations would bring about a dull season: how about this one, eh?

I can't say I particularly enjoyed this season, but Lewis is a worthy champion. Without someone of Rosberg’s abilities we’d have had a walkover. I agree, the most interesting season I have seen in a long time, was great watching the two Mercs battling, Ricciardo and the Williams emerging and all the drivers slithering around the tighter corners fighting the torque rich engines. Even the silly double points thing at the last race didn't spoil the championship for the two Mercs, though I don't know if it changed things further down the order.
Brilliant result yesterday, for me the icing on the cake was the flying start. I've never seen someone dominate so much from a start like that. He left the rest of the field for dust. I was wondering if he had jumped the start. If it was another track with a long straight before the first corner like China or Spain, then I think that start would've been amplified.

Congrats Lewis.I thought he would walk the title after the first couple of races, was impressed by Nico. Thought Monaco and Spa were a little shady, thought it was going to get all Prost/Senna levels of hostility mid season. Then when he really had to, he pulled out a great weekend in Brazil and beat Lewis on track, and this weekend his "no I want to race to the end" comment despite having a nightmare race, and then being one of the first to congratulate Lewis, he went up in my estimation quite a bit.
Been an absolute classic season imo. Top racing all through the field, Mercedes let their boys go at it all year, Bahrain was one the best GP I've seen in years, Ricciardo has been a revelation and we even got to see Vettel demoted to midfield, soundly beaten by his teammate and heading off to Ferrari with his tail between his legs.
Hopefully next season they can keep some of the politics behind closed doors and sort out the financials better. The top few teams cars get closer in performance and we have a 4 way or more fight for the title. Would love to see Alonso back in a title contending car, the Mercs Williams and Redbulls all closely matched and Ferrari to remember how to build engines again (though ideally another year in the midfield would do Vettel a lot of good)
Been a great 2014 season, here's to a great 2015 season.
