It seems there are plans to get Marussia/Manor back out for Abu Dhabi. Lots of phone calls to ex staff and others last night trying to put a team back together.

Will be very interesting to see if they pull this off and who's driving!

Are the cars there already? If not then they've no chance

All the kit and team have arrived from what I have read on Twitter.

They dont need to race on Sunday, they just need to get a car into Parc Ferme to claim their prize money.

Surely not, there has to be some kind of puppeteering going on here...

...and who is going to drive the Caterhams and Marussias? So far we have Kobayashi, and rumours of Chilton in the Caterham?

Don't get me wrong I think it's good news but christ on a bike it's just so improbable.

It would be nice if it turns out to be true but does not sound credible from what's written elsewhere.
When the business was wound up it ceased to exist as an F1 entry as the entry is only allocated to that business (apparently no one else can use it, nor transfer the entry to another company, so when the company was wound up the F1 entry expired). Its a shame as this team would stand a much better chance of making a go of it next year compared to the shambles that was Caterham.

If anything there will be a couple of cars and a guy with a Halfords toolbox to get the cars through scrutineering which is enough I believe for them to have technically "entered" the race meeting.

Ferrari have the teams power units and technicians out there, however it is quite common knowledge that Ferrari are owed a st load of cash and I assume that Pirelli are in the same boat so the chances of a car actually turning a wheel are about fk all imho.

But given that the prize money is at stake surely they stand more chance of getting some money if the cooperate?

I'm amazed that the creditors wouldn't also be pushing for this.
Turn up to meeting, collect winnings. The cost of getting there is surely lower than the prize fund (which is what, circa 40m?)

Makes sense for them to turn and collect £40million.

Even if it costs £3million in its own freight package?

Just hope the backer likes his odds - if Sauber get a point then its £3mill down the pan..

Does anyone else remember when the Arrows team run out of money midway through 2002 and just sent a couple of cars round at walking pace so that they failed to qualify but technically did enough to take part in that round?

I have a sneaking feeling the same will happen again with both Marussia and Caterham just so they fulfill the minimum obligations to Bernie and can claim their money.

Marussia are currently ninth out of eleven teams, so they would have to be outscored by both Sauber and Caterham to lose all the prize money. If one of them knocks Marussia down to tenth it is still a worthwhile gamble,as the difference between ninth and tenth is tiny compared to dropping to eleventh.

irrelevant now as their freight will not arrive.
