Ensign cars were built here in Lichfield for a while.
There's an interesting YouTube video of an Ensign car being pushed across the finishing line at Zandvoort, but I'm unable to find it at the moment. Hopefully somebody cleverer than me will be able to find it.

No, that's not an Ensign car being pushed across the finishing line at Zandvoort. Blimey...flashback time
I was at school with Mo Nunns daughter, I always thought the workshops were in Burntwood not Lichfield but to be honest I don't ever recall there ever being any 'excitment' over a local F1 team at school.
I'm sort of sure I 'recall' Tambay turning up at a school Disco and i am sure that a girl I knew who's parents were Wolves Speedway fans had Hans Nielsen stay with them when first in England turned up at another school Disco.
I lost track of Mo until I was watching an Indy/CART race? and saw him on a Ganassi pit box, brought back above memories about Ensign.

Aurora pushed across line at Zandvoort, entered by Mario Deliotti & HiLine racing, sponsors of Ensign.

Good memories Living near Lichfield, I remember as an 11year old asking my Dad if we could stop outside and peer through the windows of the race shop. You could see an N180 parked in there. Imagine doing that at the McLaren Technology Centre!
It was a Saturday, and the building was locked up, but then a car pulled up..... It was Mo Nunn, who gave me a Marlboro/Regazzoni sticker which took pride of place on my schoolbag.
