Don't know if this as been reported already - Just read in our local paper that Mr Vettel turned up at Stafford Showground last weekend for the Annual Motorcycle show as a paying visitor.

Don't know if he was swapping stories with Chili and Fogarty who were the stars of the show or buying something in the auction.

So turning up yo a show means he is going to race them cos he was speaking to a couple of racers?

He already has a few bikes, doesn't he? I thought he had a few custom bikes made for him.

Thanks , I didn't know that but it would certainly explain it.

I know the show is quite well known in the MC world given the number of people who attend andthey said that the auction generated over £1million.

It was just a shock to think the WC just turned up and paid to get in like a lot of the other punters.

They have a huge Bonhams Auction with some very rare bikes each year so was maybe shopping around?

He has a big love of classics

Very interesting piece - thanks for posting.

I hope he found something to buy.

Certainly has some nice pieces of kit ( if they were his ).

He bought two bikes in the Bonhams auction, a pre-war Triumph 350 was one of them, don't know about the other one.

Yup, he's a big classic bike fan. When he appeared at his first Festival of Speed a couple of years ago, I heard he spent a lot of time in John Surtees company around the vintage bikes as much as anywhere else.

I'm surprised Newey or Horner hasn't pulled him into sharing one of their cars at the Revival meet by now.

It's crap like that that spoils PH.

Nobody was really complaining about him looking at bikes, were they?

No, they weren't.

Vettel seems to be a very down-to-earth guy who lives a very normal, private life outside F1. I remember reading that he is a big fan of Eintracht Frankfurt, and that when he gets chance to go to matches he goes as an ordinary fan, buys his ticket and sits in the stand like everyone else.

Many of his fans, those interested in the sport etc etc - massively long list.

I'd have thought that was hugely obvious.

There seems to be more people interested and positively contributing than not ( just you and Davie ) so I'll go with the majority.

If you don't care then don't read / post - it's quite simple.
