I know Baku very well and the circuit is far better than the layout would suggest.
There's some dramatic elevation changes, particularly around the old town and the 90 degree bends are on vast expanses of tarmac so expect a couple of near flat corners
yeh, i'm waiting for it to actually happen before i pass judgement... There's some dramatic elevation changes, particularly around the old town and the 90 degree bends are on vast expanses of tarmac so expect a couple of near flat corners
Dont understand the negatively. Who wants to see the same old (and it seems people like the really old ones best) circuits year after year. Motor racing needs to appeal to a younger crowd, who drive around cities not the countryside. Exciting circuits in glamorous locations that people can actily relate to will popularise the sport.

I'm not sure how many F1 fans will/can relate to Azerbaijan... other than a drinking game points scorer during Eurovision :-)Hands up who knew where it is without looking it up?
Its another interesting, questionable, near war zone, no known motor industry destination... sure F1 should let other formula lead the way, F1 should be the reward for staging everything else properly first?

Is this the same circuit that they used for GTs last year ? There's some dramatic elevation changes, particularly around the old town and the 90 degree bends are on vast expanses of tarmac so expect a couple of near flat corners
Think I will wait to actually see it for real before passing judgement on just a map
