Which 5 drivers have impressed YOU the most so far THIS SEASON?

Here are mine...

1 - Daniel Ricciardo - Very very impressive race craft, speed and temperament.

2 - Valtteri Bottas - Just looks like a very solid grand prix driver. He's putting in performances you'd expect from Button or Alonso.

3 - Daniil Kvyat - I thought he'd be a waste of space. But again another solid grand prix driver. Proof, if more was needed, that the Red Bull young driver program is starting to pay off.

4 - Jules Bianchi - As much as I want to see Kimi do well, Ferrari have done the wrong thing choosing Kimi instead of Jules.

5 - Nico Rosberg - I think he's done a really good job at Mercedes this year. Ignore the media witch hunt.

1 &2, personally I can't split them for different reasons. Both mightily impressive. Kvyat is great, will be good to see how he matures.

Kvyat for me as he's come from nowhere.

I'd like to see Ric and Bottas hassle the Mercs more; Ric needs a firm win on purer merit as he has been fortunate to some extent - LH got two wins in 2009 in lesser car and in the dry no less as rain is supposed to be leveller.

I agree with the top three.

This is an exciting season, at least so far, with performances on a lot of really good performances.

DR and Bottas have been especially impressive but on top of that we have seen some of the more established drivers putting in blinders.

I'm impressed by Alonso.

The overtakes have been thrilling. I know this is a result of the changes to the formula, but some of the drivers have cracked it.

But DR is my favourite, quite a revelation. At least to me.

Bottas has taken the Williams to heart - good to see.

Despite all the moans, this is a cracking season and conspiracy theories aside, LH has been up there with some impressive driving.

Rosberg and Ricciardo are both storming it, in that, they've taken the fight to two assumed superiors.

That said, I genuinely believe Hamilton would trounce Rosberg if all things were equal. I'm just impressed that the gap is so marginal.

Bottas was always tipped as a huge talent. It's great to see the Williams up there.

Isn't it just?

I should think that every F1 follower should feel good about seeing smiling faces in the Williams garage again. It's been a long time coming.

On topic, certainly Ricciardo has been a revelation with his speed and racecraft as has Bottas. Both have displayed good racing brains and instinct in close quarter battles. Alonso seems to be doing "his" thing again by asking the car to keep up with him, rather than the other way around (much like Jorge Lorenzo on the Yam last year).

In order (IMHO) :

Bottas
Ricciardo
Alonso

The Mercedes drivers it's hard to judge, given the speed of the car. I expect Alonso to deliver what he is doing, so it is no surprise to me (and oddly less impressive as he sets the bar so high anyway.. 'dog' of a car notwithstanding..).

Mercy sheer dominance this year has meant the only way for anyone else to get a win has been part good fortune, but in the 3 races a Merc hasn't won DR has.. That's a bit more than just good fortune imo. He's been best of the rest and put himself in the position to gain the most.

Kvyat's control when he went off at the chicane was unbelievable - Toro Rosso owe him a drink on that one.

Surprised at Magnussen, he's been comprehensively outsocred by Jenson and the last few races has made some silly mistakes which have cost the team points.

Yep, quick but slightly erratic.. I guess this is the quandary that McLaren find themselves in, they need a solid driver and a quick driver... currently they have both, but they want more..

It's a damning indictment that the 2 drivers fighting for the WDC aren't in most people's top 3 and not even in many top 5s.

The performance advantage of the Merc is hiding a lot of sloppy errors by that team and their drivers. They make McLaren 2012 look like Ferrari 2004.

1 - Daniel Ricciardo - Agree, some great over takes and took no adjusting to be in a new car

2 - Valtteri Bottas - Also agree, shown even if something bad has happened in a race, he can keep his head and get positions back also showed some patients in MOnza, took his time to get past although did have a little touch with Mag

3 - Daniil Kvyat - Gutted he had that moment at turn 1 at Monza, but shows alot of promise, a few races though he has tried to over take at the wrong time and lost pace but he's showing hes a racer and not just on the grid.

4 - Nico Rosberg - I'm a LH fan and want him to win it, but i thought Rosberg was another Button type, good smooth racer and nothing else, but he has shown esp in Quali that he can match the best. Made same mistake twice at Turn 1, but other have made silly mistakes in the past e.g. LH in quali few races ago. I know Merc has a good car but (unless theres a crash etc) he catch LH at the end of the race, drives a diff strategy which works.

5 - Alonso - Ferrari is cack but hes getting the most out of it

No particular order

Kyvat; I like alot of people figured plucking someone straight from GP3 into F1 was a bad idea and that maybe a Russian driver paid his way into a team for the Russian GP BUT how wrong was I and many others. I was watching his onboard over the weekend and his car control is amazing, his inputs are sublime, a real future star who need his talent nurtured, would like to see him in a McLaren!

Ricciardo; Mofo just wont stop smiling or being really impressive come Sunday!

Massa; Bar some bad luck he seems to be returning to form and has handled life exceptionally well against an up and coming team mate who is without doubt a future star. Great to see Williams retain him for 2015

Bianci and Bottas; because they are clearly solid racing drivers!

Smiling, eh? Not sure about the 'again'. Good to see Head back in the pits although whenever he smiles I get a little worried.

Their car seem to be closing in on the Merc, but too slowly I feel to make any difference this season. But they do have a good car, an excellent engine, and in Bottas a remarkable driver. In essence, a good team, and it shows.

He made a few simple errors yesterday - trying too hard you could call it I suppose, but I like that in a driver. Much better than the alternative.

Podium on his debut, 7/6 in quali versus a WDC teammate, and some harsh steward's decisions in the last few races is more how I see it.
Sp pretty equal in quali but with Jenson outscoring him pretty much 2:1.

Steward's decisions have both had something in common though, forcing another driver off the track, so there does seem to be an issue.

OK, OK, I confess that it has got to the stage that I'm sick of seeing Dan's pearly whites!

Seriously, being impressive is one thing and the expectation to be a great becomes higher. Look at Seb: being a multiple WDC is not enough for his critics.
