Liege to Spa (travel guidance)

I've heard a few horror stories about travelling to Spa circuit by taxi/train/bus & mix of these options. Was thinking of train to Verviers & bussing from there?

Any guidance or recommendations greatly welcome.

You can certainly expect the bus to take longer to get from Verviers to the circuit than they quote as it's the busiest w/e at the circuit.
