Rumour of Danica Patrick driving in F1 for Haas - myself I reckon it's just an attempt to get some publicity

As the chances of Haas actually happening looks as likely as the chances of me shagging Danica Patrick, I would suggest that they might as well say Patrick Stewart will be in the 2nd car.
Why not, I could see Smoke in the 2nd seat tbh, he has a history in single seaters and is part owner of the NASCAR team with Hass!Tony is too old, but he's an accomplished driver - before his accident last year he was doing 90-100 races a year, most of it just for fun.
Patrick isn't going to get into an F1 car anytime soon, Haas is just keeping his name in the headlines.
Looks like they are headed for a technical partnership with Ferrari - build their own chassis but use major components from Ferrari. Smart way to go.
I think he'll get the team to the grid but its gonna be a tough road, as John Booth & Tony Fernandes will attest.

Would danica Patrick and susie Wolff as all female team attract sponsorship into an f1 team that wouldn't normally be interested?
The main reason there are no women in F1 (other than some races falling on the wrong weekend) is that they cannot get fit or strong enough, unless you find a woman that is built like a bloke it isn't going to happen.LOL. The "men" of F1 are hardly power houses.
Women do have, or can have the strength.
The reason why there are no women F1 drivers is that there is simply no one out there quick enough. When there is a women who has the speed of Lewis et al, she will end up on the grid.
There are only 20 odd seats. 5 or so on lock down, so good luck to anyone getting on the grid.

Have you ever leg pressed 200kg? I'm not the strongest in the world by any means but I can push 150kgs on a machine with both legs, I know people who can just about max the machine on about 200kgs, doing reps, again both legs, and these guys have huge legs. I cannot see the current crop of racing drivers being able to push that sort of weight with a single leg unless they got a serious limp on with an oversized left leg...
I think the figures being bandied about to do with brake pressure are very much a play on physical effort verses effective effort in the brake pedal system..
115kg pressure required on the brake pedal. Details here from Brembo at the hardest braking point, T1 in Sepang, 4.9G deceleration - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYKTjVCmaZg

whichever number is correct, it is still a lot for a woman to maintain for the race distance, maybe it was different in Davina Galitza's dayGassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
