Actually not, but he must have thought... .I'll have a little trip to the Ferrari factory, that will get the rumour mill going.

I could be wrong but isn't there a restaurant near the facility that he is particularly fond of.
Another reason to be in the area?
Maybe he is being groomed to become Team Principal of the restaurant?Another reason to be in the area?
I know it's a bit out there but perhaps he's on holiday.

BUT, to chose to go to the Ferrari HQ, you cannot tell me he wasnt laughing inside (if's he's not making a return)

Selection of perfect vintage Ferraris - check
holiday home close to Maranello - check
fondness for pasta in Cavallino - check
lots of mates in the factory - check
So of course he's off to the factory to sign a contract.

I bet he can't go anywhere at the moment without the same thing happening.
Given the situation, I'm sure Ferrari would have politely declined if they didn't want people to at least think he was on his way back. Or at least not milked the thing and allowed him to hoon a LaFerrari around the test track in public view.
It does look like a tantalising possibility for Brawn. He knows the place and knows that he wouldn't be one of 25 bosses if he was there. If he's looking for work, I can imagine he'll have his name on a brass plaque the day after his non-compete clause runs out.
