So merc,s turbo runs cooler because ex and induction sides are further apart, giving them a power to the wheels and less cooling required so better aero, now we gota watch this for a whole year, before Renault and fiat can unlock there homologated parts?????

Yep, makes a welcome change from SV and RBR, I just hope that Mercedes stop sandbagging before the end of the season and show us all just how dominant they really are.

that's a very big assumption based on some cheap crap journalism

the compressor get's plenty hot enough all on it's own irrelevant if the turbine housing is close to it or otherwise (and you telling me that they have not insulated the turbine housing to death anyway?)

(asides that, the little matter of the MGU-H has to fit in somewhere)

yes, Merc's design is good for packaging, but I very much doubt it makes squat difference to intercooler loads.

running the engine more efficiently will make a much bigger difference, ie, if they can make the power using less boost, that will make a massive difference to the intercooler loads.
