with all of the new technologies on F1 cars being the only vaguely exciting thing about this season, it would seem sensible to me that FOM or whoever looks after TV would be keen on some information displays for on-board shots like we used to have
gear, throttle position, speed, revs, hybrid usage (power split from engine and batteries, or absorb split between brakes and KERS etc). it should be available from teh standard ECU.
Is it that the teams don't want this information made public - should they have such a say?
Or is F1 dumbing down, and this wouldn't appeal to the casual fan they are so keenly trying to attract.

I thought I remembered seeing some new graphics over the weekend, I've just done a quick search and found a video, here's a snapshot:
The outer-circle blue graphic looks to represent the ERS as it swings from side-to-side under throttle/brake.
