Ted kravitz was talking about this on last nights notebook ( sky f1 ) and he said not all of the teams could come to an agreement to harmonise spending, and work together so they choose not to be a part of fota. Hence fota now being dissolved. In a nutshell.

He was saying it was FOTA that organised fairly fundamental things like the test days!
Given there is a restriction on testing who is going to do that now?

I despair with the teams really. You can't believe there isn't some basic common ground which they could all work from.

I don't get how the FOTA actually costs very much. Surely hold the meetings at race weekends at one of the team motorhomes? Or am I missing something?

Well there's the problem. Lemon squash. Nobody is going to agree on that. For a start Red Bull required the drink to be theirs, then renault and Burn threw a hissy fit, the ferrari chaps wanted proper coffee, and caterham wanted tea.

Don't get started on the food...

the attitude of the teams is just dumb at times,

they bh on about this and that, yet never get their collective acts together to sort it out, then wonder why berni runs rings round them...

The answer is that they are not all in it together. Once Ferrari were offered a bonus, and they accepted it, FOTA was doomed. If one team sees itself as a cut above the rest then there is no hope for the others.
