These appear to be the permanent numbers chosen by this year's drivers (source: Autosport.com):

1 Sebastian Vettel
3 Daniel Ricciardo
4 Max Chilton
6 Nico Rosberg
7 Kimi Raikkonen
8 Romain Grosjean
9 Marcus Ericsson
10 Kamui Kobayashi
11 Sergio Perez
13 Pastor Maldonado
14 Fernando Alonso
17 Jules Bianchi
19 Felipe Massa
20 Kevin Magnussen
21 Esteban Gutierrez
22 Jenson Button
25 Jean-Eric Vergne
26 Daniil Kvyat
27 Nico Hulkenberg
44 Lewis Hamilton
77 Valtteri Bottas
99 Adrian Sutil

Vettel's non-champion number will be 5.

I wonder whether any two drivers did actually choose the same number (the one higher up last year's ratings gets first dibs in that situation).

I'd also love to know what influenced each driver's choice.

Ammunition here for people who'd like to argue that Lewis is twice the driver that Jenson is.biggrin

The list you're working from is out of date.

4: Max Chilton
9: Marcus Ericsson
10: Kamui Kobayashi

Vettel was because he used to race number 5. Hamilton the same I think.

Bottas was to allow BO77AS for marketing, I think.

Chilton chose 4 because that's how many laps he'll be behind the leader when the race finishes.

If he's still around in about 14 years time he'll be able to have BO77ASV as a personalised car registration. smile

Good move on Bottas' behalf, very shrewd and I like it!
