No chance Alonso going back there any time soon then.

BBC website is reporting that Ron has staged an internal coup as is back in charge. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula-one/25766407

I can only think this is good both for McLaren and Formula 1. A man of considerable drive and energy and used to the pressures.

Ron Dennis = Alex Ferguson
Martin Whitmarsh = David Moyes.

Can only imagine this spurring the team on a great improvement in performance.

Dennis relinquishing his position after 'Cheatgate' was only ever a sham, he has always been in control IMO

With any luck. I would expect Dennis to dramatically improve the McLaren successes. I wonder what Lewis Hamilton will make of this change?

I would not hold your breath on that one. Who was responsible for LH debacle, who put the head of aero on gardening leave, half way through the design on the 13 car...

It will be interesting to see who the F1 Sponsor is

Don't think Brawn and JB get on to well.....did he not have to go to Court to get his 2010 car?

They both seek success at a level bordering on obsession. Could be a very hot mix. Or explosive.

If Whitmarsh is out on his ear then this is quite possibly a good thing. McLaren's strategy has been pretty dire for the past few years with defeat snatched from the jaws of victory time and again.

I wonder who will replace him? Ross Brawn would certainly be an interesting candidate.

I think the issue was Nick Fry as the commercial guy that JB fell out with over the car.

Fry was thinned out from Merc some time ago. I don't think he was at all competent hence the sponsor less earth car farce.

When Brawn has had his own team is he going to be able to work for Dennis? Brawn has Whitmarsh's job and tell's Dennis to leave him to it?

Would Brawn bring anything from his Honda/Brawn deal to benefit McLaren in 2015?

Nick Fry was ex-Ford road cars.

Ahhhhhh... so that's why MW was monobrow's biggest fan for a while. I thought it was odd those stories kept surfacing, the love seemed a bit disproportionate considering the history. If Alonso had signed for 2014 that would have been a very bitter pill for RD to swallow if he wanted to come back....

Good fun!

I am happy that big Ron is going to be running the shop.

We have to wait until February until we know who is team principal.

Bye, bye Mr Whitmarsh. Don't let the door bang on your bum on the way out.

In which case I would imagine Sam Michael will probably be freshening up his CV as well....
