I was trying to work out what was going on here - then realised it was a combination of the title missing (appeared now) and the main message not having it.

If true a pity, it was interesting to hear a lot of his simple explainations (as someone less technically minded).

That is a pity, I liked Gary Anderson's tech input.

Wonder who they'll get to replace him? Ideally I'd like another ex F1 guy, but if not Craig Scarbrough is technically great, and for some reason I quote like his robotic presentation in front of a camera.
Of course, if we're unlucky they'll simply get the nylon haired pixie to fill more airtime with frustrating drivvel...

Maybe he's gone because, with all the changes he would be even more out of his depth?

Maybe they should give you the job so you could make a negative comment about pretty much every situation?

The F1 Broadcasting blog has a report on this which states that they understand it was not his wish to leave. In which case it is antother retrograde step by the BBC in their F1 coverage and might of course be worth emailing hem about it.

Personally I continue to hope that next time the rights are up for negotiation (or indeed before then as appears to be the recent case) BT step in and buy the rights. However I can't see Sky preparing to do a similar deal to the one they have with the BBC so guess there will be a long wait!

That is a shame, his insights were the only reason to consider watching the pre-show / forum stuff anymore. It would have been better if the other half of the rights were given to another broadcaster like BT rather than the shambles they're making of it.

I agree. Big loss to the coverage.

Really nice guy as well - he stopped to chat at Monza a few years ago with a small crowd of Brits, outside of the paddock, top bloke.

If it's true - agree it will be a big loss. Right up there with some of the races just being shown as highlights...
