Living here has given me the chance to goo and watch the race in person, and my little brother is coming out here to watch it with me.

Does anyone have a recommendation of which grandstand is best to watch from??

I was there in 2012 and sat in the east grandstand at the end of the back straight. The view was pretty good, get to see the overtaking into the hairpin and be absolutely blown away at the sight of the cars braking from around 200mph at about 80metres into the hairpin.

It's also well sheltered as they have those parasol thingies above the grandstands, which not only keeps the sun off (if it can actually burn through the smog!), but also does a cracking job of keeping the noise in! Deafening and awesome in equal measure!

Can't really comment on other locations as it's the only place I watched from, but it certainly wasn't bad, although you couldn't access the infield and paddock areas with that ticket as it was cheaper than the start / finish grandstand tickets.
