I cant say I'm surprised but it's obviously a slippery slope towards live F1 becoming pay only.

My previous job had me working most Sundays so I had to make do with recordings or highlights. Now I will have every Sunday free yet nothing to watch!

The live races are;

30 March: Malaysia

11 May: Spain

8 June: Canada

6 July: Britain

24 August: Belgium

7 September: Italy

5 October: Japan

12 October: Russia

23 November: Abu Dhabi

The races are now so dull, I prefer when the BBC do the highlights because it saves me watching most of the race at x4 speed.

Let the core fans fill Bernie's pockets with their Sky subscriptions while we get the edited highlights. Seems like a win-win to me.

It's really bloody annoying. I too have just had a lot of Sundays freed up so now I'll have to socialise and stuff biggrin

With 20 races in the season, trying to watch them all live is now not feasible.

Did they? I thought it was more. Due to work I'm not sure that I managed to watch a single one live this year!

They did. They blamed the showing of 9 (as it was supposed to be 10) on the fact that the 10th didn't go ahead. Can't remember the race now.

ONLY X4 speed, I watch some at x32 speed, and it is still boring.

Just ordered Infinity with free BT Sport, do they show them all ??
Not excited, just interested........

BT Sport is a bit of a fraud really. I have a Sky Box, but NOT a Sky subscription. I just use it for Freesat. So when I heard that you could get BT Sport on the Sky platform, I thought I'll have some of that.
NOT THE CASE. You can only get it through the skybox if you have a Sky subscription. So another Chocolate ashtray on a motorbike accessory....

There is no F1 on the BT platform, other than the BBC coverage.

No F1 on BT.

What it does have is rugby premiership.

You don't need a Sky subscription. It doesn't cost me anything in theory. I've got BT Broadband.

Got to say their rugby coverage is excellent. Mind you, I'm not sure it is a good move for the RFU.

I hadn't missed a live race for probably 6 or 7 years up until this season. Having Sky+ has helped obviously but I'd always preferred to watch races live. Until this year.

I don't know why the BBC bother. They created this situation and clearly don't give two hoots about any motorsport, let alone F1.

Sky might be seen as the big bad wolf by some, but the coverage they do is excellent and imho worth the cost.

Like what happened with ITV, Sky may have bought into F1 just at the moment it is perhaps entering a doldrums phase.

Having lost Moto GP, the Beeb has a very nice gap around 14-15 June. Perhaps they could begin to think outside the circle and show some real tactical motor acing.

Start and finish on BBC1, hourly updates on the web and BBC2 plus lots of coverage on red buttons and BBC3, or 4.

No need for 2 hours of talking heads before and after the race.

Simples and, I bet, very affordable.

I've only deliberately missed seeing one race that was televised (unless I went to it) since the middle 80s, Imola '94. But this 18/19/20 race year is too much for me. I watch local rugby - 22 matches pa this season, down by 4 from last - and it is difficult to organise your life around it all.

We've just been discussing dumping Sky movies/sport and I know full well that my interest in F1 will drop as I'll be missing half the races. It's not the same, those edited highlights, nor the DVD from a mate.

I feel like a bit of a rat, cos I hate putting money into Bernie, and Murdoch's pocket, but being a big fan of F1 I have just had Sky fitted. I like to think my money goes to all those who make the programmes first. paperbag

I have found the BBC coverage quite good and convenient. With only a selection of races being live I have made special efforts to catch them all, and the highlights have been very good for the rest. I also managed to avoid hearing or seeing the result before watching the highlights as well.

Bearing in mind Jake Humprhey is at BT Sport I expect to see BT bidding for the rights when they come up next time round.
