When does Mark's Red Bull contract run out so he can final say how it was?

I believe he is contracted till New Year. I think I read about him having to miss Porsche testing in December as he'd still be a RB driver till then.

Wasn't there a suggestion that Red Bull was sponsoring the Porsche team?

That's what I heard that they were going to continue to sponsor him.

Dietrich Mateschitz clearly stated that MW would continue to wear a Red Bull helmet after he moved on to race for Porsche, so he remains part of the Red Bull family.

Looks like we'll have to wait until he fully retires from Motor Racing and releases an Auto Bio.frown

Good god you are all obsessed with the fact that webber got a raw deal. So bad in fact he kept resigning every year. And now races porsches for them.

I wouldn't put it as mild as "raw deal" there have been times in the last four years he's been stuffed with a kipper and left out to dry!

As a professional racing driver who seems well liked across motorsport, why would Webber risk damaging his reputation by looking like a whining child in some exposé of Red Bull? What would be the benefit to Webber? I'd avoid any bridge-burning statements (if there are even any to be made).

If the sponsorship is correct, then this must surely be the reason.

Looks like we will have to wait sometime yet until he can write THAT book.

A little more on Red Bulls possible 'partnership' with Porsche.

I like the guy, and respect him.

His book, in the Red Bull years, would read along the lines of:

"I got beat by driver totally in tune with the regs and machine".

Move on people, he has.

Isn't the English language wonderful? At the end of a contract an F1 driver has 2 options:

(1) resign

(2) resign.

Red Bull have given him permission to work with Porsche immediately now that the F1 season is over and for that, he's very grateful. I read that on his website.

They don't want him to find out any of their 2014 secrets.

They didn't have to let him anywhere near the 2014 car, he could easily have been kept busy on promotional tasks until the new year, instead they've let him join Porsche early. They've been more than reasonable imo.
