Currently on a cruise (sea day returning to port), the only way to watch the race was ‘ESPN UK’ which seemed to be pitched at patronising kids. Awful cartoon leader board, the ‘lead’ commentator and her observations on what was going on make Crofty and co Einstein level and delivered in a perpetual tone of surprise.

He can be annoying, but it could be a lot worse!

thankfully the latency on the TV was roughly the same as BBC 5 live streaming so spared my ears after a few laps.

Interestingly, I’ve seen both the f1tv commentary (Ben Edwards) and SkyF1 (you know who).
Small difference that sums it up for me.
After Hamilton’s emotional thanks to the team, the commentators both said something.
Edwards commented on the emotion, offered an explanation for it and empathised with hamilton.
Croft reeled off three statistics about how many wins etc. etc. Hamilton has.

We're on for a 6th different Race winner

Started on the front row for the 11th time and 9th win

15th Silverstone podium... <mumbles incoherently>...

The sun comes out after 52 laps

The first driver to ever win past 300 Grand Prix
All in the space of about half a lap.

She shared some slightly awkward political views a couple of weeks back which caused a bit of a drama - mostly in the States.

No big deal really. However she has since said she's taking a break from Sky and expects to be back in October, basically for Vegas.

Reading between the lines I would say she's being taken out of the limelight for a short break to let anyone bothered by her views forget all about it! Perhaps also to allow Sky/Liberty to road test another US pundit to see if they can find a better fit..

There's no big story here.

Thanks to Crofty I now know it is 4000 odd days since Alonso did something. I am obviously not paying attention to the really important stuff!

Did you hear Rosberg put Croft in his place, when Croft asked him if he could empathise with the drivers, Rosberg replied "that why I'm here"

Although Croft was kind of asking if Nico could empathise with Checo as in being continually beaten by your team mate smile
