His wife has been shopping for a house near Marenello so I expect his base will be fairly convenient for the factory smile
How do you know this?
Apparently Amanda was seen visiting houses in the area, variously reported at the time.

She was in the area - possibly it's just a massive coincidence of course smile
'Variously reported' seems to mean all the usual clickbait sites quoting an unsubstantiated line from a Daily Mail story as fact and making further stories about it. Nobody actually saw here there.

From my experience it's about holding onto an overall design direction and also keeping tabs on what the teams are developing and what is worth committing too and what needs to be sacked off.

There has to be one person with a solid vision that can direct the efforts of everyone else.
From my experience of being directed by Gordon Murray, Pat Symonds, Mike Gasgoine, Malcolm Oastler, Geoff Willis, Shuhei Nakamoto, Aldo Costa, Rory Byrne, Pat Fry, James Allison, Matt Harman it is an infinitely difficult task to get right

Many sacked, fell on their sword or just got lost

Only 4 names I'd feel confident they'd understand/know the best direction to point everyone in

Along with the fact that Newey was definitely there - as per my post above, there's no absolute evidence ever. Make your own judgement based on what is known.

Newey was definitely in Italy a few weeks ago, testing one of his cars at Mugello, where he was spotted in his Red Bull racing overalls.

I don't know what this means for the Ferrari story. 2+2= whatever you want it to be.

You mentioned the RBR overalls. Do you see that as relevant in some way?

Ah, apparently a source said they possibly saw her smile
Along with a confirmed spotting of Adrian in April.

Of course there's no hard evidence, you'll never get that. But it's ok to make the odd assumption. I think he's done the deal and will soon be announced at Ferrari.

What do you think, if you were asked to speculate, as I am doing?
I think WhatsApp messages would possibly convin......erm, no scrap that... wink

Giving the Italian tailor the hurry-up is a possibility...

Apparently Newey has signed up to duolingo and started “Italian Level 1” so it’s basically a done deal I reckon.

hehe

I'll only be absolutely certain it's a done deal when he takes up the frequently-on-sale Rosetta Stone lifetime access package. biggrin

I don't think he needs to take people over from one team to another to be effective at his role, but I do tend to agree that history tells us that the British influence at Ferrari is either wasted or needs to be totally accepted 100%, as it was during the MS years of dominance - also Ferrari's last period of success.

They obviously want to win but that will require the natives working with the British immigrants biggrin
Lots of that happened already. John Lockwood head of composites for instance
