Total waste of a seat.

If Stroll is resigned for Aston Martin then we can rule out the thin chance of Adrian Newey going there. One of his demands would have been driver choice and he wouldn’t have accepted Daddy’s little boy no matter how big the pay packet.

The chances of Newey going to the Aston Martin Le Mans project may be a different matter altogether….
I still recon Newey to Ferrari, initially to work on the F1 car, but then a yacht for the America's Cup.

It's good to see at least one driver getting a seat on merit. Oh, wait...

Another anonymous weekend for Sergio is always a good time to make this sort of announcement.
Duplicating the red bull path to success.

Funny thing is a few years ago he was OK. A journeyman who had built a bit of a reputation of being decent in the wet. But now totally off the boil

Like Perez being signed to Red Bull for 2 more years, Stroll's signing gives the impression that Aston Martin can't be arsed with their constructors championship placing.

Was always on the cards, just like Perez staying at Red Bull.

Sainz is the key to all this now, once his drive has been announced the rest will quickly follow.

I hope RB saying that the junior team should be for junior drivers come to fruition and Ricciardo is given the elbow. I think it is 50/50 him being out of F1 or getting a drive with Haas.

Maybe it is true that he will get replaced with Liam Lawson in the next few races?

Its quite interesting that the mercedes improving every race could mean they are neck and neck with Red bull at the end of the year.
Max could yet jump ship in 2025 as he also ponders the great unknown of the red bull guys engine.
So Sainz keeping us waiting till at least after the last race.

He's off to Haas, so no chance

Assuming it's in an F1 race seat.

But Gasly's staying at Alpine, so there is definitely a chance.

I honestly don't understand why both parties haven't found a way to make it work, Pasta Kimi would benefit from a year in F1 but not potentially getting slapped around by Russell and Carlos even on a 1yr contract will keep his stock high, I don't think Perez will survive next year at RB. Hell if Max sits out 26 as semi expected there's a prime seat potentially open.

Yeah but look at who his team mates were back then.

He was beaten by a last season Massa at Williams, the the following year Williams only scored at one GP with Stroll beating Sirotken twice (they only scored points twice!) but being out qualified by him, if only slightly.

Then he was beaten by Perez at Racing Point, then by a very poor final swansong Vettel for a couple of years before coming up against some real quality in Alonso.

Yes, he has put in a couple of stellar performances, but sadly most are not. I was impressed with his "grit" to get back in the car following his accident though, something he did not have to do.

Just silly when you see the press speculating as to whether or not he will be signed by the team. I mean, FFS.
