That was the season Bernie switched Silverstone to April as a punishment for something.

The Mika story is true.
The year most of the car parks were shut because they were random fields in Northamptonshire for the other 51 weeks of the year, and many days of rain had left them totally unsuitable.

The only people who had it worse were those who did make it to the ‘car parks’, because if they were barely serviceable in the morning they sure as hell weren’t at the end of the day, and a few tractors removed all the cars one at a time over a period of several hours.

Be an interesting weekend I hope. Saying that, seems like the weather may well play as much as a part in the result as anything else.

How does a UK driver 1,2,3 sound? Can't remember a time where that was a (admittedly very faint) possibility before.
That would be great, especially if Bearman gets another substitute drive, Lando, Ollie, George would be awesome, and to make it a Commonwealth clean sweep, followed by Daniel, Oscar and Lance (oh then Hamilton 7th)

Really looking forward to this, especially as I have won tickets through work so will be attending on Sunday being seated at Abbey B grandstand, the last GP I attended was Silverstone 1996.

So it's ok for others to hope Max fails, but I'm not allowed to not support Hamilton? Pretty unreasonable (especially as I'm not a Verstappen fan!) At least I didn't hope for him to crash (as others have for Max...)

I never want for any particular driver to do badly or fail. What I do want is for them to race, as far as possible, cleanly and within the rules.

Yes it was April, I remember as my brother had only moved into his new house a week before 6 of us arrived for a month from Oz

We also had a day of snow, (in Surrey in April!) enough for my daughters to make their first snowman.

Later, an 18 degree day where my bro warned us there would be people with their shirts off in Guildford! (there were, we were in jackets!)

Sounds good to me thumbup I imagine you want Hamilton to finish above Verstappen? (BTW, in my scenario, he does smile )

I went that year and was camping at Whittlebury Park. On the way out we pushed a few cars that were stuck in the car parks but others were axel deep in mud so couldn't help them. Must have cost the circult a fortune as they had to refund a lot of tickets.

I like to see Lewis do well, especially at Silverstone. Most of all I’d like to see some close and clean racing . I’ll be there on Saturday, watching on tv with beers on Sunday.

That's cool but have you ever posted 'you just can't help yourself' when there's a 'I hope Max crashes/breaks down' comment?

Works both ways.

I'd be busy! wink

I'm far more about wanting great racing than wishing to see anyone in particular fail.

Irvine dropped us off in the F2 pits at lunchtime, having annoyed the marshalls by giving us two laps in the Espace, sideways mostly...
Was driven round the GP circuit by Eddie for a few laps in an Merc E500 in '94. To this day I have no idea how we made it round Stowe, given the speed he was carrying.
