Nice watches don't have batteries. But I might be harbouring an old-fashioned opinion on that - plenty seem to wear an Apple watch and I wouldn't dream of it. Manual or self-winding only for me.
You’re a true gentleman with real taste and style sir.

So it’s essentially a business meeting / networking event for you, so dress accordingly.
You work in a capacity where you can solve problems for f1 teams, yet don’t know how to dress yourself?
Must be in IT
Sort of... nailed it You work in a capacity where you can solve problems for f1 teams, yet don’t know how to dress yourself?

I used to sell Claas machinery and every farmer-farm worker lived in canterbury rugby shorts and dealer boots in the sping/summer.

I've spent plenty of time working in the paddock. Shirt, Jeans, Trainers. You'll be fine.
Same spent nearly 4 years in the team motorhome/box as a guest at many races and to start with it was trousers, shirt and shoes then over time I just wore jeans and a tshirt.Be comfortable. The weather can be a nightmare. My last race at Silverstone I wore a goretex jacket most of the weekend.
Yes there will be people there in suits and jackets and what not, but if you are not going to be in front of the camera then no one cares.
I remember seeing EJ walking round the paddock in Spain with massive stains down the front of his t shirt. He had his shirt in a carrier bag LOL.
The WAGs do tend to get more dressed up, IME.

Didn’t compute at first - I then tuned into Silverstone and saw the weather . 😱Genuinely feel sorry for those who are having to endure it - however forecast much brighter for later - maybe F3/F2 sprints could be held after F1 quali ?
Breezy but sunny down here in Kent/Sussex - could I suggest Lydden for next year ??
It was a good weekend and a great result in both qualifying and the race. Exhausting though!
I managed to avoid most of the cameras, and whoever said not to worry about getting dressed up, was right. Even in my tractor gear, I would not have been the worst dressed.
I met Sir Jackie Stewart, a top guy. He sat next to me and just started talking. Fist-bumped Brian May, he did seem to be in a bit of a mood, but I was just walking past. missed Clarkson and Mr Bean (He will always be Mr Bean to me)
Things that I was not expecting is that the entire weekend runs like clockwork. You can time people to the minute and they will be exactly where they should be. The girls looking after me were wonderful if I wanted something or someone they took care of it, even if I wandered off a little bit while waiting.
Most people I spent time with during the race, were being plied with alcohol all day. But no one was drunk or acted like a fool.
The hotel was fancy-schmancy. I will see if I can find some pictures. but I'm not one for a photo, and I'm not stupid enough to post anything identifiable.
Ohh.. And my Jag XJ broke a few days before SilverStone. Oil in the coolant. I'm hoping it is the heat exchanger under the supercharger. I went to rent a Bently but they didn't have any of the "Supercars" in stock. So ended up with a 3-series BMW. It was crap. The suspension was way too hard and the heads-up display made me feel sick. It did handle well though.
