They're obviously not serious about WCC. Maybe they win it, maybe they don't.. if they don't it'll be Perez's fault for sure. Do they care? Probably not - its about $7m difference in prize fund, Perez reportedly carries sponsorship of $40m. The Red Bull brand doesn't have road cars to sell so WCC value is further reduced for them.
They sell fizzy drinks, the best way to do that is to have Max looking like a God, nothing else matters. The subsequent drinks sales attributable to F1 participation alone dwarf the sort of money we're talking about in F1 championship terms.
Max is no doubt happy to have a team mate he leaves for dirt each weekend. The marketing men won't mind Max being made to look unbelievably good either.
I'm sure there are multiple ways they could eject Perez over the next two years should they wish to. But it's not 'hard to justify' why they've maintained the status quo for now. It's actually very easy to make sense of how it's justified.
People just don't like it because it's got nothing to do with racing and everything to do with marketing - but that's the reality, across much of F1.

For once I reluctantly brought it down to your level.
If you can muster the self control, keep your exchanges civil.

Is it possible that you sit at the more sensitive side of the spectrum ?

Okay, so my wife just sent me a link to a gossip column, suggesting that an unnamed F1 driver might be having domestic problems with his wife. There’s only three married F1 drivers of the current 20. Just saying…

Who are the 3 married drivers?Sergio Perez's Austrian GP 2024:
- His teammate MV collides with Norris, gets a puncture
- Limps slowly back to the pits for a change of tyres, check damage, etc
- Receives a 10-second penalty for the collision
- Still manages to finish 17.4 seconds ahead of Perez
- Perez finishes in P7 when started the race in P8 (Would have been P8 if Norris didn't retire)
Also, he finished the sprint race 17.4 seconds behind MV and classified P8.
How embarrassing must it be for him?![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)

In defence of Perez, he had sidepod damage on lap 1 from contact with Piastri, so the car wasn't 100% . https://www.planetf1.com/news/sergio-perez-big-hol...
Hamilton also had sidepod and floor damage, although I think that was from going off track.
