Those grandstand prices are not miles away from package deal prices to Abu Dhabi or Singapore - that include your flights and hotel for three or four days! You can have an actual holiday for the price of admission to Silverstone, especially if you add camping or parking.
Wow- You must need your head examined to pay Silverstone’s pricesPersonally I will be sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea, maybe with the laptop, and maybe have a little snooze in the middle.
Silverstone have done this to themselves, who in their right mind is going to pay thousands of pounds to watch what is going to be a very boring race?

Silverstone ticket prices are crazy not good value at all.
Don't look at Miami or Las Vegas then! The prices at both can be eye watering. Even Austin prices have gone up significantly in the last few years (with Drive to Survive increasing popularity over here), but that didn't sell out last year and tickets were significantly marked down in the couple of weeks before the race.ThingsBehindTheSun said:

I’ll be happy watching from the sofa with a fridge full of beer and no queuing for the bog.

That ticket is indeed still on sale.

A quick scoot says there’s 11 grandstands available, and 16 grandstands sold out. The granstands on sale are in the £550-£650 range for three days, and GA is a shocking-to-me £349
Especially when a one day GA ticket for Monza is €100. Or 3 days is €120 (I think)https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/formula-1-bri...

£600 for flights, accom and entry? I think you need to back that one up with a link as I simply don’t believe it.
Fair enough. I’ll do some digging when I’m not watching the football, but the national airlines that headline sponsor these events do some bonkers deals on package tours when booking directly. On the other hand, UK sports travel agents or F1 Experiences are going to rip you off. shirt said:

Qatar as an exampleReturn flight £350 Out Friday back Monday
GA ticket for Sunday at Qatar £133
4 star hotel in the centre for 3 nights £91
Grand total : £573
Silverstone is a Joke.

How many GP are self funded, as opposed to those that are government subsidised?
I don't know. I don't think Silverstone gets any direct subsidy. I think the US ones get state support but not Federal.I am guessing Qatar gets some for some 3 nights in a 4* hotel at a GP weekend being £91.

True, but there must be a ton of oil subsidy in that. Return flight £350 Out Friday back Monday

Silverstone is a Joke.
But the fact remains that you can actually have a proper long-haul holiday for the price of camping at Silverstone for the weekend.

If you went all that way for GA though, you’d need your head read. I accept the comparison though, albeit I think it only works with Qatar as no one goes locally so there’s no premium on hotels.
Same thing for Dubai and Abu Dhabi is £700 so not wildly different. Also GA is much better at these places as weather is lovely, no rain or beating sun on your head for 6 hours.
