Croft has to go

I don't find shouty necessarily bad, even making mistakes doesn't bother me, as Murray proved back in the day. It was almost cute.
It's just that they keep shouting all the time, trying to make it as if there's excitement to be had, trying to convince us, when there is nothing really going on.
This is my problem with Croftie, he sounds... manufactured. Feels like there's a corporate line that we need to sell F1 as an exciting product and you have to make it sound exciting, no matter what. Even watching the highlights last night, all 7 minutes of them, made me sick of listening to him...
Sky's main requirement is to get people paying the sports subscription. To that end they like to produce edited promo material with Croft shouting like he's just witnessed the most exiting moment in sporting history. Sky are very good at that. It's just that they keep shouting all the time, trying to make it as if there's excitement to be had, trying to convince us, when there is nothing really going on.

Unfortunately, when you're actually watching the race, he keeps raising his voice to 'highlight reel' levels to give his employers what they need, despite the fact that the viewers hate it.
So yes, it's a corporate line to shout excitedly so they can sell the product. They don't care about pissing off the people that have actually paid for it, because they've made it very difficult for the fans of the sport to go elswhere.

He was screaming like it was the last race to decide the championship on Saturday and it was only the end of Q2.
A real pain in the backside with all his nonsense and hype.
And we are about to have three races back to back, the first one on a track that's as bad as Monaco for overtaking A real pain in the backside with all his nonsense and hype.
I was never that bothered until you lot started complaining!! Haha.
Anyway I never renewed the subscription with Sky as its all just too boring this season. At the weekend I avoided the news until late at night (although I heard it was a wet race) so with anticipation building watched the highlights on terrestrial TV - just hoping that someone new might have won. Sadly not to be.

Come on now, it's the journey, not the destination when it comes to motor racing.Anyway I never renewed the subscription with Sky as its all just too boring this season. I don’t think the issue is Max winning, its been the lack of any competition, so its great that its finally getting closer at the front. Look at Monaco- Leclerc won but a total bore of a race.

What makes it boring is the combination of a dominant team and a clear #1 driver within that team, remove either of those factors and it gets exciting again, so it’s good to see the teams all start to close up.
Monaco is usually a dull race at the best of times unless it rains, that this year’s event managed to feature no pit stops only made it duller. The challenge there is on the Saturday, and the spectacle mostly for the attendees rather than the TV audience.

I have to wonder have Liberty made it a condition to SKY that they have to have an American presenter
Adrian, Sky is quite rightly involving women in their broadcasting team, as they have done from the start with Georgie, albeit short lived in her case, when Natalie took over. Women have long since been drivers, engineers etc. Specifically to answer your question, Danica has a pukka single seater experience and credentials at the highest level; her Indy Car record speaks for itself way back when it must have been infinitely harder to have been taken remotely seriously than it is now. Her input and viewpoint on F1 weekends is really valuable IMO. She often gives an insight into driver psychology too which I find very informative.
If her input and visibility encourages and inspires young women around the world to aspire to a career in motorsport, what do you see as a problem with that? Same as Bernie’s input as engineer and strategist; her insight has been, and continues to be, brilliant. Look at the Red Bull Pit Wall and you will see Hannah Smitz.
I was so delighted for the Iron Dames to finish 5th at Le Mans last weekend in the Lamborghini. If they hadn’t been taken out by a stupid manoeuvre, they would have finished higher. The wider team is back racing at Spa 24 this weekend. Wishing them the best of luck.
Where did all the undermining of women come from all of sudden?

She doesn't seem to understand F1 particularly well to me. Then it came to light that she is a trump supporting moon landings denier. ![silly](/inc/images/silly.gif)
