Looking at Davidson talking through the replays of Hamilton’s attempts at T10, where there was quite a bit of oversteer, it’s clear that his car is set up with quite a strong front end to protect the tyres in the race and get a decent balance there. The result is the oversteer we saw. The track though hammers the front left, so a bit more downforce at the front will help even that out, and of course naturally bring the balance towards neutral through the course of a race stint (as the front tyres wear). The downside is you sacrifice balance on new tyres and thus for quali.

Is Logan Sargeant‘s performance on a par with Mazepin?
He’s way better than Mazepin. A lot of teams have come to accept a 0.35s gap between their drivers. In a Williams that means conspicuously last.

There’s still seven cars that could be on pole. Closest qualifying in a long time. 0.385 covering seven.

The stewards must be smokin’ the good st this weekend. Crazy decisions.
I’d like to have seen the reprimand for Stoll as follows

“Due to causing a collision Stroll will only be allowed to drive the catering truck for the rest of the season”

Is the timing on the original post wrong? Just tuned in for the 16:00 qualifying only to find we are already at Q3?

It’s not wrong. ‘Track time’ is local time.
