Michael Andretti wants to enter a team in 2024... but has met resistance from the current teams.
So, if DR can stay in F1 for next year... there’s always a bit of hope for the future.
They have something in common - how to make a McLaren F1 car under perform! So, if DR can stay in F1 for next year... there’s always a bit of hope for the future.

He didn't help himself by trying to commute from the US.
This is still one of the best F1 documentaries ever

Always thought Ron Dennis wanted him out. His constant remarks about his driving were pretty harsh to say the least. Especially considering how many issues he had with car reliabilityThis is still one of the best F1 documentaries ever

I remember seeing Michael Andretti in qualifying and practice for the European GP . He was far from shabby , but scored an own goal by his heart not being in F1 and having you know who as team mate. I suspect that if he'd moved here and committed to an F1 career he'd have done well

He wasn't really up to it in F1 as Mika showed when he turned up at Estoril and outqualified AS. I wonder how Mika would have fared had he been in the car all season.FourWheelDrift said:
Albon has shown he can adapt to cars, Torro Rosso, Red Bull, Williams. He'll be considered for the drive, which will allow Piastri to join Williams without pressure and Latifi stays on, along with his dads money.
Ricciardo to Aston to replace Vettel if he retires.
Piastri is far too good a talent to be at the back in a Williams and I'm fairly sure is leagues ahead of Albon. Ricciardo to Aston to replace Vettel if he retires.
Unfortunately Albon has not demonstrated exceptional ability and there is still a bit of a taint from his RB years. His Monaco race was atrocious and suggested he is still playing a bit dirty by ignoring 12 blue flags (before he retired which was poetic justice).

Alex Albon comes across as a really nice young man. GR and LN seem to think highly of him, but is he really in their league, good enough for McLaren, or is he more of a Stroll, (mediocre by F1 standards)?Ricciardo to Aston to replace Vettel if he retires.
The best, most harmonious, driver pairings at the moment seem to be at Red Bull, followed by Mercedes and lower down the grid, at Alfa Romeo.
Agreed, no way Albon should make the jump ahead of Piastri. I hope Vettel doesn't retire though I wish him well if he does (his passion for motorsport means if he did he will probably live out all our fantasies in his Swiss paradise).
Piastri deserves a seat. Vettel does too. Now the budget cap is kicking in hopefully teams don't need the pay drivers they used to.
Ricciardo? I've never been his biggest fan (that's himself ) but I honestly think he deserves one more season. Not for what he's done lately but in a sport where Latifi gets a seat (amongst others!) he's not the worst!

Apparently, DR has a get out clause... but only he can instigate it.
Maybe he has pushed the button, so Zak Brown has to get the wheels rolling for next years replacement.
Sebs name has also been mentioned...could it be as simple as a straight seat swap between the two.

If there is a seat any team boss worth his salt should be moving heaven and earth to try and secure Piastri even if only for a season.Maybe he has pushed the button, so Zak Brown has to get the wheels rolling for next years replacement.

Alex Palou has signed for McLaren for 2023. F1 or stay with Indycar?
100% stay with IndycarI suspect Palou has gone there partly to exploit the F1 relationship and get seat time under the TPC testing programme, with a view to getting in to F1 that way in 2024 onwards
This is what Pato O'Ward is doing and, notably because he's not a 'McLaren' driver, Colton Herta.
i think Palou is good, his results over the last 18 months are better than Herta's, but he will be in Indycar in 2023.
