If i were williams, i'd be giving maldo a right scudding.
Last lap do or die that causes damage to bottas car - with the bovious risk of takingthem both out.
For what? 16th place? Yeah everyone is chuffed pastor, you showed the world there. In fact, i think ferrari might eye you up for 2016...

Raikk's overtake. Wow. He'll be one to watch next season
Yes, shame he seems to stuggle so badly in qualifying lately. I can't figure out if Kimi has dropped off now he has signed for Ferrari and the championship is dead, or if Grosjean has dramatically improved, or maybe a combination of both? Still disappointing to see him qualify so badly time and time again and spoil his race chances - if he had of been up there at the start he could have been fighting for the win, given how kind he is on his tyres and how is race pace is usually superior.
Same goes for Alonso really - much better than Massa during the race but spoils any real chances on a Saturday.

Some of that could be down to setup of course, setting the car up to be kind to the tyres, could mean they can't get the same heat into them as some as the others over a single lap.I can't figure out if Kimi has dropped off now he has signed for Ferrari and the championship is dead, or if Grosjean has dramatically improved, or maybe a combination of both? The problem is purely the tyres.
The tyres are so fragile the teams have to run very low race fuel. In fact, none of the cars that start the race can actually finish the race on the fuel that they start with. They all have to go into a fuel conserve mode after the initial laps. If they did start with the enough fuel to drive flat out, their tyres would be destroyed literally within a few laps. It's the same in GP2 - they have to cruise around on an out lap - hammer out a quali lap then cruise around again to preserve their tyres. In the race they have to run the same strategy, initially it's flat out, then they all go into fuel & tyre save mode to get to the end. Very little happens in the middle 50% of the race.
The teams and drivers cannot openingly complain about the tyres and explain it in my blunt terms but it's an absolutely ridiculous

Brundle alluded to it in commentary when he said the drivers absolutely hate the tyres but can't say too much about it.The teams and drivers cannot openingly complain about the tyres and explain it in my blunt terms but it's an absolutely ridiculous

Grosjean seems to make his tyres last OK, not as long as Kimi maybe but they are hardly falling apart after 5 laps either........ so if it is down to set up then why would Kimi do that, surely it is a compromise too far?RYH64E said:

That was quite a cool race.
Interesting just how planted that Lotus was when Maaaark was trying to get past. Not so planted for Vettel though..................
Felt rather sorry for RG there, I really hoped he was going to be able to imitate Hulkenberg and drive the widest car on the track.
Also, very interesting to hear Brundle allude to Hulkenberg getting a drive next year for a better team, with the others suggesting Lotus. Now that I will be most looking forward to. Next Season there will be some superb teammate scraps.
Can anyone clarify why everyone (Commentators at least) was saying Lewis moved onto Seb? It didn't look like it so much to me, Lewis was alongside Webber for a few seconds before contact was he not? Unless Webber moved right and Lewis had to as well?
And surely those tyres so take more than the slightest touch before the sidewall lets go?

I think setup is a factor in qualifying, but other than the last 3 where kimi has been driving with an injured back he's been at least been equal with Grosjean over a single lap anyway.
That, and I figure that he can't be arsed since he knows he's moving. Edited by Bluequay on Sunday 13th October 11:13

If anyone is likely to speak their mind once their ties with F1 are over its Webber.

Seems obvious RBR were sandbagging for most of the race and didn't run away from the start in order to try to avoid the inevitable criticism over alleged technical advantages.
It does look like they managed the race looking at webbers second stint lap times, did they really need to pull him i, or could he have gone a lot further on those tires.samvia said:

Susie Wolff doing a decent job on Sky. Wonder if we'll be seeing more of her on TV?
Decent thigh gap too...The Scottish German accent is a bit annoying though, even my actually German uncle has a more Scottish Scottish accent than hers.
