David Croft also kept saying that arrabiata means ‘hungry’?
I assumed was saying hangry, because he'd noticed it means angry and you get penne arrabiata and because it has f![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
But equally maybe he was just saying hungry because he can only think about food.

It’s by no means unique to David Croft but “six one hundredths” really annoys me. Nobody says “six one apples” or that “i lose four one tenths of my income to tax” [keeping it PH]. “Six hundredths [of a second]” is fine.
Not to mention his inability to do simple maffs, 0.029 according to Croft is 2 "one hundredths", when the rest of civilised world would round up to 3 as they were taught in primary schools.Gary C said:

Yeah... Arrabbiata means "Angry" ... trust me, my wife is half Italian! ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
Trust me too, my wife is fully Italian.
I don't know, maybe they were winding him up?!

I mean if you're going to try to look clever on telly in front of millions, how hard is it with the worlds knowledge in every pocket to check a fact? Maybe croftys never heard of the internet? I'd love to witness his discovery of it!

I find Crofty 49/51, like nearly perfect weight distribution, but in this case it`s not a great analogy... constant verbal muck-ups that make me roll my eyes, and yeah, his gushing horse-race commentary at the start is a bit hard to listen to but in the overall scheme of things it`s bearable. My wife leaves the room when things get exciting, as Croft ramps it up to a point that annoys the hell out of her, or she`ll ask from another room if the guy is having a seizure. ![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
When we`re watching the start and first lap I need to wind down the volume so she can handle him, and I can still hear a bit of info! He obviously provides lots of valid facts and figures and generally makes a decent fist of it, and when he blurts a factual blunder, Brundle (Blunder, Brundle... hmmm...) will often jump in and correct it. The balance of Brundle`s knowlegable influence and coming out with gems like "Ambition well ahead of adhesion" gives it all a Laurel and Hardy kinda stability, & means I won`t be in the vigilante brigand that calling for Crofty`s head.
Well, not yet.
Him screeching at the top of his voice is enough to make me turn the sound off completely.![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
